Erick Mathoho could still join Mamelodi Sundowns

Bloemfontein Celtic defender Erick Mathoho has stated his desire to sign for Kaizer Chiefs, but Mamelodi Sundowns have not given up hope of landing the player just yet.

The Brazilians and AmaKhosi are locked in a battle for the towering centre-back, and now Sundowns have upped the stakes by increasing their offer even more.

KickOff.com sources confirm that, over and above a staggering amount of cash, Downs have also offered Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Buhle Mkhwanazi as part of the deal.

“Mphahlele and Mkhwanazi have been offered to Celtic, so we are waiting for them to respond,” the source says. “Everyone knows that Mathoho wants to go to Chiefs, but Sundowns have not given up hope.”

Last night Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza revealed that Mathoho wrote him a letter stating that he wanted to move to Chiefs.
