Everton defender Joseph Yobo has expressed his desire to join Fenerbahce on a permanent contract.

The Nigerian international joined the Tofees from Marseille in 2002 and went on to make 220 appearances for the club in seven seasons.

Yobo has spent the last two seasons on loan with the Turkish giants securing the league and cup double, and such success has left The Super Eagles defender hoping to secure a permanent move.

"Moving to Fenerbahce was the best thing in my career," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"I joined them because I was eager to win silverware. The 2011 Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup justified that. I hope my permanent move to Fenerbahce is concluded soon."

Since moving to the Istanbul club in August 2010, the former Standard Liege man has been a first team regular making 69 appearances in two seasons.

When comparing the seven years he spent in the English top flight with his two year spell in the Super Lig,Yobo made the assertion that although it is not as popular as England, the Turkish top-flight is a league of superior quality.

He added: "The Turkish league is more technical than the Premier League. The Premier League is more physical and most popular in the world, but after playing for seven years in England, I think the Turkish league is of a better quality."
