Maritzburg wanting to keep Diouf

Maritzburg wanting to keep Mor Diouf as Lentjies transfers to Celtic

With the imminent departure of star midfielder Kurt Lentjies to Bloemfontein Celtic, Maritzburg United do not want to part ways with centre-back Mor Diouf.

The club have an important press announcement tomorrow at which they are expected to unveil new signings and possible a new sponsor.

But they are also expected to back up their position of wanting to keep the big Senegalese defender, despite interest and offers coming in from Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

KickOff.com understands that Lentjies is about to finalise the last of his paperwork today and will be off to join Siwelele.

And on the back of this, Diouf who has just returned from holiday in Senegal, is considered an important player for the club next season.

But Diouf has made it clear that he has his sights set on a move to Europe, with the French League a target.

He did not miss a minute of Premiership action for his team in an outstanding showing last season.
