Amakhosi announced on Sunday that Nengomasha, who has served the club for almost 11 years, will leave when his contract expires at the end of the month.
According to KickOff.com's informant at Naturena, Chiefs have already agreed terms with 'Viera', who is touted as the perfect replacement for the Zimbabwean international.
"The club has agreed personal terms with the player. However, there is the possibility of the boy going to Portugal, hence the delay in putting his signature on paper," our source says.
"If his move to Sporting Lisbon, where he had trials last season, doesn't materialise, he is definitely joining Kaizer Chiefs next season."
Masalesa's contract with Wits expires at the end of this month.
Meanwhile, Nengomasha, who decided to leave Chiefs after being offered just a one-year renewal of his contract, is said to be heading to Wits next season.
