Renovation will be carried out on the UJ Esuene Stadium to improve the pitch ahead of the Super Eagles game in September.

Team captain Joseph Yobo had complained about the state of the pitch after Saturday's 2-0 win over Rwanda, and Cross River State Sports Commissioner Patrick Ugbe says work will be done to address his concerns.

“Ours is to continue to work on the facilities that we have and make it better than it used to be.

"The U.J Esuene Stadium was worked on before the match against Rwanda and will still be worked on even after then.

“We are looking at making the Stadium better than it was during the Rwanda tie and work will start in earnest immediately to ensure that is achieved,” Ugbe said.

Nigeria will find out their opponents for the two-legged final qualifying round fixture in September and October when CAF hold draws next week.
