Black Label Carling Cup team updates

Posted: 21 June 2012 Time: 10:47 am

There is still no sign of Morgan Gould in the Kaizer Chiefs starting line-up for the Carling Black Label Cup match against Orlando Pirates on July 28.

The Bafana Bafana defender joined AmaKhosi towards the end of last month, but has not made his way into the starting XI, as chosen by the fans.

However, fellow new signing Siboniso Gaxa is there, as is Thomas Sweswe, who has been linked with a move to Black Leopards.

The Pirates line-up features Sifiso Myeni, who joined the club during the January transfer window, but who is yet to feature after arriving with a long-term injury.

Also in the side in Happy Jele, who sat out most of last season following a horrific knee injury suffered in November.

Current starting XIs Kaizer Chiefs: Khune – Gaxa, Sweswe, Mashamaite, Jambo – Yende, Nengomasha, Letsholonyane, Tshabalala – Parker, Majoro

Orlando Pirates: Josephs – Jele, Sangweni, Lekgwathi, Matlaba – Myeni, Manyisa, Jali, Klate – McCarthy, Rantie

Pirates votes shows that most Pirates fans don't know soccer. How can they vote Myeni and Klate in the same starting 11

@ Mjereza,

Myeni can play both wings, behind the strikers or as well as a second striker. So your utterances are unfounded.

Did you look at your own line up? Yende, Nengo1400 & Lemfenenyane in the sane lineup? What's your take?

@Mjereza, welcome back from exile. When you were away Myeni was playing for Wits and played both left and right wings and at Bucs we always swap wings.
Last game against Arrows,Klate played at right wing at times and even supplied the cross from the right which was headed home by Sangweni.

i hope you enjoy your VISA in Mzansi and if u come with such comments u will be deported forever

El Kampion: I agree with you, bugs will kill this team- KC fans are struggling to vote for their players because most don't associate with Black label- imagine buying a beer you will not drink just to get a vote? So Zimrats can continue to vote for a Chiefs starting XI because we Khosis have better things do do than buy a beer we don't drink!

NEGOTIATIONS to take Mulomowandau Mathoho from Bloemfontein Celtic to Kaizer Chiefs were reaching a conclusion last night, bringing to a potential close months of speculation over the future of the towering defender.
Mathoho will be the final piece in the jigsaw for Chiefs in a frenzy of post-season market activity, said the club's football manager Bobby Motaung.

"We have agreed with Celtic and they have promised to finish up all the paperwork by the end of the day. This is the last deal that we wanted to do," Motaung said.

Amakhosi have got their man ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns, who were also courting the player and had also been in discussions with Celtic

Mathoho will become the sixth new signing for Chiefs since they moved quickly out of the starting blocks to begin buying after the disappointment of yet another trophy-less season.

Mathoho will partner Morgan Gould, who cost R5-million from SuperSport United, in Chiefs' new-look central defence next season. The fee for Mathoho is not known and neither club would disclose it yesterday

Myeni can use both feet just like Leremi (RIP).U r the one who doesnt know soccer boss,Robben plays on the right wing mostly for both Bayern n Holland even thou he s like Nyawana Shabba.U dnt hv 2 b left footed 2 play left wing or vice versa as modern futball has changed

Mjereza Myeni is right-footed. it is just that Wits preferred to use him on the left - to cut inside. What the line-up shows is that there is no sense of adventure. We all know how these players play together; we should try new combinations that the coach would never try. Otherwise, the goal of this tournament is not realised...

I dont give a hoot who plays or wins this Zamalek Cup. As far as Im concerned Khoza nd Motaung may as well vote for whom they want to see play on dat cold day! I still want the Charity Cup back and Im not shaken on that view. KHOSI 4 LIFE!
