Four options for Maluleka

Ajax Cape Town star midfielder George Maluleka wanted by various clubs

Posted: 21 June 2012 Time: 07:00 am

Ajax Cape Town star midfielder George Maluleka has more than just one option even though a move back to SuperSport United looks the most compelling right now.

Ajax CEO George Comitis today confirmed that there is a buy-out clause in Maluleka's contract and that if Matsatsantsa come up with the money there is nothing Ajax can do.   But the player's business manager, Glyn Binkin, explains that even though SuperSport looks the most likely, there are other options too.   "Look, Mamelodi Sundowns have shown interest in George too, but the main interest has come from SuperSport United and because George played there before, he knows what to expect," Binkin says.   "It must also be said that George is happy at Ajax Cape Town. Myself and George met with Ajax today and he is grateful to the club for the part they have played in his development and maturity, both on and off the field."   Binkin then points towards what would ultimately be Maluleka's first prize; a move abroad.   "I think his first choice is to move overseas and continue his progress in the Bafana Bafana set up," Binkin says.   It is understood that Maluleka will take the option that best presents him with a chance to continue growing as a player at club level, but also on the international stage.     Follow me on twitter @neilgreigsoccer

This notion of going overseas i dont understand its purpose. If it is for the money and money is available here why do you go. Everyone complains about how weak our national team is, and level the weakness on lack of international experience. If we strangthen our teams not for the purpose of selling players overseas we will have a strong national team. Look at Spain and Germany, only few players play outside their countries, unlike England we the league is dominated by foreign players and the national team is as average as Bafana.

Sundowns??? Here we go again!

We jumped and signed Ntsimbecane Sangweni, now where do we wanna play George????

He must be left alone, together with Manqele and Mathoho who must go elsewhere.
We need Sunzu at the back and Chris Katongo upfront to lead our leaderrship-less team........

This thing of being led by Teko is crap, you ca'nt have a leader without initiative, no, no!

@King'ston ('',)

Buccaneer, I've also casted my vote for Lekgwathi he deserves every single accollade he can get.

My only worry though is what he'd do with a million rand??? Angimthembi! Lol.

What if he takes all that money and gives it to the Chairman as a thank you for everything, including allowing him three kids with his wife? LOL.

Towering Mathoho the last piece of puzzle for Chiefs
21-JUN-2012 | MARK GLEESON | 16 COMMENTS
NEGOTIATIONS to take Mulomowandau Mathoho from Bloemfontein Celtic to Kaizer Chiefs were reaching a conclusion last night, bringing to a potential close months of speculation over the future of the towering defender.

Mathoho will be the final piece in the jigsaw for Chiefs in a frenzy of post-season market activity, said the club's football manager Bobby Motaung.

"We have agreed with Celtic and they have promised to finish up all the paperwork by the end of the day. This is the last deal that we wanted to do," Motaung said.

Amakhosi have got their man ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns, who were also courting the player and had also been in discussions with Celtic.

That will come as a source of some pride to Motaung, who has had similar high-profile deals gazumped by billionaire Patrice Motsepe over the past few seasons.

Mathoho will become the sixth new signing for Chiefs since they moved quickly out of the starting blocks to begin buying after the disappointment of yet another trophy-less season.

Mathoho will partner Morgan Gould, who cost R5-million from SuperSport United, in Chiefs' new-look central defence next season.

The fee for Mathoho is not known and neither club would disclose it yesterday.

Chiefs have already also signed Siboniso Gaxa, Sakhile Hlongwa, Nhlanhla Khuzwayo and Siyabonga Nkosi.

The 22-year-old Mathoho, born in Tshiondo in Venda, won his third cap for Bafana Bafana last Friday against Gabon.
