Surman pens new deal

Andrew Surman signs a new deal with English Premiership outfit Norwich City

Posted: 20 June 2012 Time: 06:38 pm

South African-born midfielder Andrew Surman has signed a new three-year deal with English Premiership outfit Norwich City.

The 25-year-old, who turned down an opportunity to play for Bafana Bafana early this year, is delighted with his reward after a fine season.   "I've really enjoyed my time here and I'm looking forward to another three years at the club,” he tells the club’s website.   "It has been amazing. Everyone keeps talking about these last three years, winning two promotions and then staying in the Premier League.   "We've a new manager (Chris Houghton) coming in now and it's a great time to build on what we did last season. Everything I've heard about the new manager is really good. He's a football man, and a good man manager too,” he adds.   Houghton, too, is delighted that Surman accepted a new deal.   "Andrew did really well for Norwich last season and I am pleased that he has accepted our offer of a new three-year deal. Since joining from Wolves he has continued to improve, and showed this by scoring some important goals in the Premier League last season.   "It's a deal that is well-deserved, and hopefully he can pick up where he left off when we get back for pre-season,” Houghton concludes.

& should we qualify and ofcourse by miracle for the 2014 he's gonna come running bcos clearly there is no way on earth he's going to represent England. One of his excuses will be that SAFA never contacted him and that he always had SA's interest @ heart.

Mr Editor this guy doesn't want to make cause with SA. Equally we have disowned him. Stop feeding us stories about his signing with English Premier League yoyo teams, bo Norwich (EPL Jomo Cosmos).

Those who are interested in him can follow him on twitter.

Then if he is not interested in playing for Bafana Bafana, so why do we need to report on him, waste the article space. Why????????????????????????????????

I would be very keen on the reason why he turned down that opportunity to play for his country since not everyone wants to be associated with mediocrity and failure.

Lets not pass judgement, Kick Off do us a favor and interview this player.

FACTS ABOUT EPL

If you qualify to play for England and you haven't been called or considered for England squad then you are not good enough.
Matthew Pattison is an example of EPL (former) player like Surman. Why is he not in Bafana Bafana.

For once wll agree with King we should not pass jugment as yet, let us look who dealt with the boy at first it was Pitso, mybe the aproach was not right, the boy has been playing in Europe for the long time probably even Pitso fail to understand him (language factor, he might hav misudertood him. kickoff can interview him on bafana issue and myb we give a nw coach a chance to spk to the boy. he might be important in our national team setup.
