While the rest of Africa is involved in 2013 Nations Cup qualifiers, Bafana will be involved in a high-profile friendly with the 2014 Fifa World Cup hosts. The venue has yet to be confirmed, but could be announced by the end of the week. Being part of the Fifa calendar, it means both sides should be at full strength for the encounter, which will be a big baptism of fire for the new Bafana coach. The game will more than likely be played on Friday, September 7, with Bafana returning to South Africa to play against an African opponent on Tuesday, September 11. Brazil had originally proposed the September 11 date, but have since suggested the game be played four days earlier. Safa have cancelled plans for an August friendly, meaning this will likely be the first game in charge for either Steve Komphela or Gordan Igesund, depending on who is handed the Bafana reins. Other confirmed matches for Bafana include an away trip to Poland on October 12 and another game against African opponents at home on October 16. They will also play Zambia in the annual Nelson Mandela Challenge on November 14.

SAFA-ring should finalise the coach and stop this shortlist nonsense. If you cannot beat Botwana in their backyard you are going be embarassed by Brazil in the Americas!!!
