Also not returning to the club is goalkeeper Stephan Loboue, who joins Andre Petim – who is already back at Ajax Cape Town – at the exit door, meaning teenager Nkosingiphile Gumede is the only keeper now on Arrows' books.
The club has decided not to renew Elrio van Heerden's contract while Ugandan midfielder Anthony Mawejje is already back at Iceland club IBV, having been at Arrows on loan for a few months.
Robyn Johannes, Clifford Ngobeni and Katlego Mashego have all returned to Orlando Pirates following the expiry of their contracts, while Siyabonga Nkosi has already signed for Kaizer Chiefs.
Muhsin Ertugral, whose players have already been back at training this week, confirms all the departures, adding that he is aiming to have a squad of 27 this season.
"Last season we had a lot of big names but we struggled. So this season we also need to balance up. I have already had a chat with Mthembu that we cannot keep him, while Elrio is already gone, just like Clifford who has returned to Pirates.
"Tony has gone back to Iceland already while we will not be retaining Loboue and the Brazilian keeper.
"Though we have let so many players leave I am not in a position to reveal who we are signing. However, we are aiming higher this season," the coach says.

Out of all this news, the only thing you thinking about is Orlando Pirates. Uzakuguga umncinci yi-Pirates. It takes 30 games to determine league title, not one game and Pirates or Arrows aint the only teams contesting in the PSL, also pay attention to teams that choke towards the end of the season like the one that lost 4 consecutive games when a lot was at stake last season. Not forgetting those only fighting for top8 instead of the title itself.
Chiefs shud sign Elrio Van heerden, the boy is top class he jst need to play 4 a team with a winning mentality.
