Banyana Banyana will arrive in Lagos on Thursday for Saturday's prestigious international friendly match against the Super Falcons of Nigeria at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

The first match of the two-leg friendly took place in Rustenburg on Sunday, June 3, with the two teams stalemating at 1-1. The Super Falcons' goal was scored by veteran Stella Mbachu, while Portia Modise found the net for South Africa.

At the weekend, the Falcons pounded Mighty Warriors of Zimbabwe 4-0 to qualify for this year’s African Women Championship finals, on a 6-0 aggregate.

Banyana also completed a home-and-away battering of Zambia, winning 2-1 after hitting their opponents 4-1 away in Lusaka.

Both teams are at the top of the African women football tree. However, the Falcons have never lost to the Banyana in any match, competitive or friendly.

NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, Chairman of Technical Sub-Committee, Barrister Chris Green, Chairman of Nigeria Women’s League, Chief (Mrs) Dilichukwu Onyedinma and NFF General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu are among dignitaries who will be at Saturday's match.

The Banyana Banyana will return to South Africa immediately after the match on Saturday.

Ten years ago, we were feasting on Banyana and the likes of Cameroon and Ghana. What do we have today? We are playing 1:1 draw with Banyana. We do not have minnows in footbal they (NFF) would tell us. We keep recycling old players with stunted growth or small frame within the age- grade football and the senior team. Hence, no fresh legs being recruited.
Mark my word, within two years, Banyana will be feasting on us. This clueless NFF will be deploying fire brigade tactics just like it has done Super Eagles.

@Suya, that we use to feasting on Banyana ten years ago, doesn't mean that it is going to last forever. Football is like a pendulum, it swings this side and that side. you don't bring in fresh legs in the team for the sake of it, you have to make sure that the fresh legs are equal or even better than the old legs.

If we are now drawing 1:1 with Banyana, then we should give then credit for improving their game and being on a par with us.

Remember that there were countries that were feasting on us before that we are now on a par with.

Don't get me wrong, i know you want our girls to do well, but the will be times when the countries that we use to feasting will have a little feasting back on us.

@GERRY: Please paste your comment once and put up your best behaviour. Pasting it over and over again makes no difference. If you have a point once you paste we shall figure it out, but if you have made no point. Pasting it again can not still add meaning to it, that is by the way.

i should mention your comment is not bad in anyway. God will help us in any case.

WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!!

@Mr General, point taken, but I can't believe that you took your time to tell to paste once. I pasted once you should ask Kickoff why it appeared twice.

I wish the ladies well. I have to give credit to Banyana for not being spoiled brats. When they play away(regardless of the conditions) they give their all. credit goes to the players and the technical team. Good luck against Nigeria, lets go out there and fight for the pride and the nation.
