Enyimba's trip to Gombe United has been called off by the League body following the fatal shooting of Yusuf Adamu, chairman of the Gombe State council of the Nigeria Referees Association on Tuesday.
"We decided to call off that match because we are not certain of the security situation in Gombe right now," NPL's Acting Executive Secretary Tunji Babalola told KickOffNigeria.com.
Ocean Boys have also cut short their proposed journey to play Jigawa Stars, opting to divert to Abuja instead to await further directives from the NPL rather than continue through the ongoing fighting in Kaduna.
"We have not postponed the Ocean Boys game yet," Babalola said ominously.
"We will monitor the situation and see what happens."
Elsewhere, Kano Pillars are also mulling over the wisdom of driving through Kaduna to keep their date with Heartland in Owerri.
All other games are expected to go on as scheduled on Wednesday.
