Stars meeting to decide Manqele’s future

Free State Stars to sell Edward Manqele this week

Posted: 19 June 2012 Time: 12:01 pm

Free State Stars are currently locked in a meeting to decide the future of Bafana Bafana striker Edward Manqele, which is likely to be at either Kaizer Chiefs or Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 25-year-old has been in high demand after a breakthrough 2011/12 campaign, when he scored 11 League goals to finish third behind Siyabonga Nomvete and Eleazar Rodgers.

Manqele tells KickOff.com that he is keen for the situation to be resolved this week, and a source at Ea Lla Koto suggest it might be the case.

“It’s a matter of deciding between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns and that decision might be taken this week; no-one really knows,” the source says.

“The meeting started yesterday and the player is just waiting for the outcome and then to move to his new team. But he was told to report to training yesterday and he did.”

Kickoff.com will keep you posted when the club makes its decision.

Manqele himself should select a better team for his career.I`m a proud fan of Amakhosi, but i respect every player`s decision of joining the team of his desire,Manqele is a better player now and he will be a good player with more game time, so a good choice will be valuable to his career. An already built team without vision for it`s players, and destorying other players careers won`t be a good choise for a young star, but a good choice for a retireree going for pension. If yoour dream is to play abroad then there`s only one team in these two teams that can make that to happen as soon as an offer arises.More players ,not to mention names were denied the opportunity to further their careers abroad, so make a good decision boy.

FSS deserves better for their valued asset. If R6.5m reported to be paid by Downs for Ghanaian striker Baffour is anything to go by, Manqele would cost more than that.
