Pirates agree terms with Zim striker

Orlando Pirates agree terms with Zimbabwe striker Takesure Chinyama

Posted: 19 June 2012 Time: 10:05 am

Orlando Pirates have agreed a deal to sign Zimbabwe international Takesure Chinyama, subject to the player passing a medical at Mayfair.

The Dynamos forward had been on the wanted list of Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, but has now opted to join the Buccaneers for a reported R100 000-per-month salary.

“He just has to go for a medical now and if he passes he will be a Pirates player. There is nothing from Sundowns or any other team at the moment,” the News Day quoted a source close to the player.

Now that Chinyama has finished his national team duties with Zimbabwe, which included playing in World Cup qualifiers against Guinea and Mozambique, as well as a Nations Cup qualifier against Burundi, he is free to travel to South Africa and tie up the deal.

Meanwhile, another Dynamos player, Denver Mukamba, will travel to South Africa this weekend for trials.

He has previously been linked with Black Leopards, but there is now also reported interest from University of Pretoria.

@GUCCIMAN: As much as I hate to admit that Bucs are now recruiting Zim players like Chiefs & Sundowns but his salary is made public R100 000 per month) unlike Sundowns & Chiefs' Zim players who are earning R5 000 per month (which is translated to $Zim 5 million. I think Chiefs are commiting an error by releasing Sweswe bashiye uSvasiya, Ritchie and Mashamaite even if they can sign Mathoho.

Takeaway is just gonna add to pie city list of foreign flops! He failed in poland and came back to zimbabwe and wat makes sangoma khoza think he will succeed in south africa? As for the 100 000 salary is a big fat lie! A zimbabwean based player for that money is unheard of! Mybe its his transfer fee I mean we are talking about pie city who were paying happy jele R4500,00 two years ago here! Anyway he is gonna be like msowoya, otourougo, matema, pires, mwape, Tefera etc

Good news for the Mighty Buccaneers. Now this is the news I have been waiting for since I heard that my team is after the player. I like it for the Pirates.
