Serero transferred to Ajax Amsterdam from Ajax Cape Town at the beginning of last season, and despite starting well with De Godenzonen, he fell out of favour with coach Frank de Boer, fueling speculation around his future with the Dutch giants.
But speaking in an interview with KickOff.com, Serero says he had a positive conversation with the head coach before the club closed for the off season.
"We spoke to the coach," the 22-year-old explains. "There was talk about the possibility of me going out on loan, but he wants me to stay at Ajax Amsterdam next season. We will see when we open for the new season."
Serero says he enjoyed his first season in Europe, even though he has not made a great impact.
"I started well, but I was disturbed by the injuries," he says. "I am ready to fight for game-time next season."
The player says more time on the pitch would be a positive for him and Bafana Bafana: "That is not only going to be good for me but also for the country, with the Afcon tournament coming to South Africa next year."
Serero played one of his best games for Bafana against Gabon in Mbombela last Friday, looking more comfortable playing behind the strikers, and he was instrumental in creating Tokelo Rantie's goal in the second half, with a perfectly weighted pass.
Serero is full of praise for his teammate: "He makes good runs and great finisher of the ball."

Your comments on this story...
1. Eating too much pap and braai meat whilst drinking umqombothi make their tummy too big to compete with other foreign countries. lack of discipline
2. Too much partying, from thursday to Sunday...eish..lack of discipline
3. Poor b@ll skills and poor shooting techniques...just look at how Teko, Nomvethe and Shabba miss sitters...Poor early age development
4. Our players a generally weak...look at how the so-called big teams loose their match...you will find ukuthi the so-called star players are dispossed the b@ll very easily and fall down like "inkukhu yomshini", and that is when they get punished...Counter-attack. Just look at how Ethiopia score their goal...makes you think.
5. Our players are too casual...PERIOD!
This plaers don't take their careers serious.
Abo Quintin Fortune, Lucas Radebe, eitlik...all the so-called "legends" that played overseas (Except for Benni McCarthy) were useless if you compare them to the likes of Abede Pele, Samson Siya Siya, Jay-Jay Okocha, Drogba, Samuel O'to...eish!
Our players needs a serious development...they are too short just like Koreans.
So how do we expect them to out-perform other players in the european leagues?
Ushukuthi Serero is better than all the midfielders of his time, including those that have won trebble after the other?
Yoh, expect a 'blacklash' from the 'servants', even though I fully concur with you. mh.
