Ikechukwu Uche misses brother Kalu in Nigeria camp

Super Eagles hot shot Ikechukwu Uche has told Goal.com that he misses the presence of his elder brother Kalu in the Nigeria camp.

Ikechukwu has been in camp with the Eagles for three weeks now but his brother Kalu, who scored twice for Nigeria at the Fifa 2010 World Cup in South Africa, was not called up by boss Stephen Keshi.    Ike says he misses the presence of Kalu because they have always been together, especially at the Super Eagles' level and these are strange times without him.   "It is not out of place that I miss my brother. After all he is my brother. Then again, we have played football together all this while and even at the national team we have been together so it cannot be out of place," Ike said.   "There's really nothing I can do about that. We have a coach that decides who plays and he didn't invite him so I don't think there is any issue about that.   "We have so many players and he chooses his team so life must go on. This is football and we play with the personnel we have around us so there is no problem about that."   But Ike agreed that Keshi is on a new project to groom new players for the national team and they all agree with him and support the new development.   "The relationship between the foreign based players and those of them who play at home is great. We are all footballers and we will always play together when called upon."   Uche has played 37 times for Nigeria and has 16 goals to his name.

Uche we the fans miss him also, because your brother Kalu is a very good national team material, i never forget his 2goals for Nigeria at the Fifa 2010 World Cup in South Africa and all his contributions,i always followed his league matches also and can understand how good he is but life is just like that you never gets all u wanted in life, there is other players in the camp just take them as your brothers and be focus in doing well for Nigeria, kalu will still get his chance in future ... just an advice and the way forward..I wish Nigeria good luck in there nest coming match

look lets be honest and realistic and not delude ourselves after failing to beat a poor rwanada team whom look very bad after watching clips on YouTube, failing to score more than a goal against Namibia, and a struggling to beat Malawi,i believe if we dont score at least 3 goals tmoz there is a serious problem we have with our football and certain things needed to be reviewed such as the nff and the coach, Tunisia beat Rwanda 5-1 , Algeria beat them 4-0 so why cant we achieve that or better it if we r a powerhouse in African football, and if there r no minnows in football why did these teams achieve these results,be honest people

@Nastynas.
I agree with you. Minnows exist in the minds of those who look for excuses to justify their failures. Super Eagles should be able to beat Rwanda handsomely.

@Nastynas, you are spot on with your comment!

That is what a big national team like SE gets when a coach reduces it to the level of Rwanda, Malawi and Namibia by bringing in untested players in the name of rebuilding!

It's such a shame that with all the established stars scattered all over Europe (minus the ones we are used to), keshi settled for the ones struggling to assert themselves playing lowly rated teams.

I earnestly hope we can make it to AFCON 2012 with this unnecesary experimentation. I HOPE.

Just incase, the match ends goaless (God forbids), both teams will play penalties to decide who goes through. So lets prepare for penalties (just should incase). So that after the match, we will not hear, But GREEN OR GREED DID NOT TELL US WE NEEDED PENALTIES IF THERE IS A DRAW.

In the unlikely situation when both teams play a 1-1 or 2-2 or any kind of draw, Rwanda qualifies.

Just a goal is enough to see us through. Goodluck to you boys.

The federation is in precipice and is reflecting on our team that is now on the ropes. We need a total change not for change sake but a fundamental break from the past.

Even if the federation claims that they can't affort a first grade coach, middle class coaches like Claude le Roi or Bruno Metsu who has worked for a long time in Africa are necessities that can deliver us from the present embarrasment of choice.

Most elevated national teams in world football still employ foreign coaches an nothing is being said about it.

Super Eagles is a big brand, we need coaches that has won trophies aforetime, coaches that can stamp our image again in world stage.
Amoudu had a glorious past before he was hired, and Siasia has a promising future before he was hired, but we need someone who has something to offer RIGHT NOW, a coach of substance who can support the bragging and swagger with convincing results and trophies in a rocky Balboa style to raise us from the canvas back to our desired place.
We have won the nations cup only twice and that is very poor and winning in the world stage is a mountain Tom Cruse can't climb.

Yes, I am back from my leave of absence from the Kick-off forum, for how long are we going to be experimenting?, the time is against us for all these laboratory experiments.
Keshi should sit up and perform, yes. He has the established players who are in great form of their carriers instead he opted for inexperience players for the Super Eagles all in the name of rebuilding. It is really disheartening that we can not defeat Malawi and Rwanda away and we struggled to defeat Namibia at home. Kalu Uche, Mikel Obi, Osaze Odinmwinge, Emmanuel Emenike and Taye Taiwo are in good form but, Keshi refused to invite them with all sorts of unnecessary excuses.
I feel proud to be a Nigerian when I saw Mikel performing wonders on the field at the UEFA Champions League final or should I start talking about Kalu Uche at Espanyol or Emma Emenike scoring goals for FC Spartak Moscow like he was born with scoring goals. Keshi, Keshi, Keshi, Super Eagles of Nigeria must not fail, Anyway, ‘am watching…...

Siasia is back on this site again today with his distraction. You guys can't get it if he was that good why is he not coaching even league sides in Nigeria and still jobless since he was fired over eight months ago? Everybody wants to coach the Eagles, even spare dealers on this site. Leave Keshi to do his job, we don't need any yeye foreigner to come here and take us for a ride again.

@Oga, how long was keshi jobless after he got sacked by Mali, 1,2,3,4 yrs? Many great coaches even wait for as long as 2 yrs before they get new worthy offers. Were you not here when an indian club signed jayjay and siasia? im not try to start a siasia argument. But trust me, that guy has got plans, he is presently working on his football academy, a huge one at that, and its going to be in nigeria here, so watch out. if you doubt me, go get a copy of last moths ModeMen Magazine, thats if you're in UK or Nigeria or the US.. Keshi was jobless after the Nigeris sack along with Amodu, He was jobless after Togo sacked him, so jobless that he was available for a recall , was jobless afte Malis sack and when siasia got the eagles job, he was still jobless before he got called. so Shove it.

Egypt just lost at home to Central Africa Republic. I hope the Eagles are aware of this cos an upset by Rwanda will be unacceptable. It's very clear that there no longer minnows in football. SE should start playing every match like it's a world cup finals.

Changing names 10times and coming to comment rubbish on this site, just to make people feel that a lot of people are for siasia will not change any issue.
Keshi is the coach and he is doing great, If you dont understand wht he is doing fuukofff!! and focus your evil eyes on India or wherever your coach is

Lets forget this issue of foreign and home base. Siasia used foreign base against Guinea we were not able to win. If keshi is using home base, let's watch. If he succeed ll congratulate him and if the reverse is the case he bare the blunt. God bless Nigeria.
