Amajita coach Solly Luvhengo has praised his players for what he termed a ‘gallant effort’ during the 8-Nations International Tournament against Brazil yesterday.

South Africa lost the semifinal 4-3 on penalties after the scores were tied at 2-2 after 120 minutes, meaning Brazil will now face Argentina on Sunday.

Speaking to KickOff.com, Luvhengo says his team did well against Brazil and deserved to be in the Final.

“I think we deserve to be in the Final,” he says. “There were moments where we were far better than Brazil. But football can be cruel at times and if u can’t score more goals than the opponents you cannot win games.”

Luvhengo says his team will take a lot of positives from this tournament.

“I must praise my boys though; they put up a gallant effort throughout the tournament and should be proud of themselves. We will take a lot of positives into the future.”

Hi Solly, you did us proud by leading Amajita thus far, I really appreciate the good performance and I wish if this could be transferred to our national team. Keep it up
