Jele targets Carling Cup return

Orlando Pirates right back Happy Jele wants Carling Black Label Cup return

Posted: 30 May 2012 Time: 07:02 am

Orlando Pirates right back Happy Jele says he hopes he will be ready in time for the Carling Black Label Cup match against Kaizer Chiefs on July 28 at FNB Stadium.

Jele, who got a serious knee injury in November against Bidvest Wits, has not played a match since then, but the Buccaneers faithful are voting for him in large numbers to be part of the Carling Cup next month.   But while his team-mates will be on holiday during the off-season, Jele will be training alone to make sure that when the season starts, he will be in a good shape.   "All I can say regarding my injury is ‘so far so good', I'm just hoping ahead of next season that I will be well and fit again," he says.

_quote "I'm also hoping to be ready for the Carling Cup but now that it is the off-season most of the guys are away but I won't be going away. I will be working hard so that I can be fit for next season."   The defender says he is encouraged by Bucs fans voting for him in the Carling Cup while he didn't play much this past season.   "For me I think it is a huge thing that the supporters still recognise me that I make a difference while I'm there, so I'm happy to be one of the players that they are voting for.   "I hope that I'm not going to disappoint them on July 28," he adds.

@Bucs fans, we actually dont need to vote for our any player to participate in Carling BB. We call all Bucs players in dressing room and we say, any 11 voluteers and then that is it.

Any eleven players at Bucs can go on to the field and strangle this Zebras with Brighton Mhlongo as GK for the day

Those who criticise this competition must just hand cuff their big mouths. This is an exciting competition and it gives fans chance to see the players they felt were sidelined playing.Your big mouths only bent on criticising must be used in criticising the sellection system used in sellecting footballer of the year where by some coaches we made cry like babies on the day we lifted our lig are expected to vote for our very players who inflicted such pain to them.?Some retired refs must be appointed to sellect such players not this bull thing.

@TP dat 's all about business my chomie and it 's Ayoba why don't you blame Macufe and Mopani in Venda. i don't see de different between dis tournament and previous one, bcos for instance you will find Dunusa leading de Galaxy and dat thing by votes during de game only 350 fans and de rest is Galaxy and dat thing of naZOOrena, even if Man United can play against dunusa or Ajax on de same day all attention wil be at FNB.

Or are u worried to face de Galaxy, just buy two tickets one for you and one for Makoti and keep quite.

It would have not been such a bad tournament had the 2 bosses kept the Charity Cup...

For them to scrap that by reasoning that its too much for the PSL was pure hypocrycy to other teams though yet again in reality Bucs and Chiehfs would dominate in terms of hype and fan base in the cup.

yet again We still have the Macufe's and similar tournaments which no one is complaining about though..

@TP...please answer this question; You say it is(thi Curling cup)injustice to other teams. Then which teams do you mean here?Because Pirates & Chiefs are very happy about this competition. Then if you mean other 14 teams, its so funny coz Curling is not a gorvenment parastatal but a pvt company hence they do as they like. You can help those teams market a company to do such a tornament if you feel for them.

@ TP

Other teams can also have their own tournaments wit their own ideas. This is proof that Chimps n Bucs r big brands n other teams rely on them 2 survive in PSL.I wish the Charity Spectacular can come back but not includ Chimps n Pirates then we can c if its gona b a success

Lmao welcome back magents
Eish my back 4 will b stronger as always once again. Full backs Jele and Phungwayo lol, Centre backs Sangweni and Leghwathi or(Mathoho). all these important players cn score crucial goals unlyk other unmentionable useless gud 4 nthng defenders (naZOOrena brothers and Sunfools).Leghwathi must rest coz hs arms are injured due to lifting of 6 heavy cups in a short space of time.Josephs must b next to take this heavy responsibility i.e if Mathoho is signed. Bucs i'll remain.

I do'nt care if you started following our soccer manje or sfter i-WC, but this competition is the biggest fraud South African football has ever seen.

To think it replaced the irreplacable, traditional one-day soccer extravaganza, and initiation to local football........the Charity Cup is a shame.

Cabanga nje, my son will never experience a proper induction into our diski and that scares the hell out of me, cause what if he decides taking fingerprints at Home Affairs with a scotch, velvet suit from 9-5 like le-Joko tea u-King is glamarous enough?

DiehardBucs........Atleast make your case have some weight before you debate, you ca'nt compare anything to the Charity Spectacular my friend.........At Five to Six years, my buddies were already attending these whole-dayers unsupervised, no one needs to ask if it strengthened my understanding of the local game cause it's obvious.

I-Carling Cup on the other hand, requires one to drink heavily or pick-up amapaniki njenge hlanya to participate, I mean really! Dough.
