Chiefs move quickly to sign Khuzwayo

Kaizer Chiefs move quickly to sign Brilliant Khuzwayo from AmaZulu

Posted: 24 May 2012 Time: 04:45 pm

After KickOff.com revealed that goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo had not yet signed for Kaizer Chiefs, Amakhosi moved swiftly to offer the goalkeeper a contract.

The Under-23 international has since signed a three-year contract with Amakhosi, after finalising the deal with the club football manager Bobby Motaung today.

Don't miss: AmaZulu goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo says he has not signed for Kaizer Chiefs

The Umlazi-born goalkeeper revealed this morning that both AmaZulu and Amakhosi did the deal without his knowledge, and he was taken by surprise yesterday when he received the news that had already signed for Chiefs.

Khuzwayo now says he is looking forward to start his career at Naturena next season.

"Everything has been finalised with Bobby today and I have signed a three-year contract with Kaizer Chiefs," the player says.

Khuzwayo will have extremelly tough competition in the form of Bafana Bafana number-one Itumeleng Khune, although he insisted this morning that he does not want to sit on the bench, seeing himself as "one of the best goalkeepers in the land!". Do you think Khuzwayo can realistically challenge Khune for the no. 1 jersey at Chiefs? Have your say on our Facebook page HERE!

Guys we have to give a credit where is due,I think Bobby this time is doing a good thing by signing Khuzwayo. Firstly is still young and he will learn a lot from Mr D(goalkeeper coach), ask Barthman.
Lot of famous SA goalkeepers come from that man. Bear in mind that Barthman will join the technical team in goal keeping Dept. Secondly no goalkeeper came to Chiefs on his best. At Chiefs we build goalkeeper from scratch.
Khuzwayo my advice to you just listen to Mr Duiker. He knows lot no one here in Mzansi can beat his record.
