CAF names Doue for Eagles, Rwanda match

Ivorian referee Noumandiez Doue for Nigeria and Rwanda match

Posted: 23 May 2012 Time: 06:39 pm

The Confederation of African Football has named Ivorian arbiter, Noumandiez Doue as Referee for next month's 2013 African Cup of Nations return leg match between the Super Eagles and the Amavubi of Rwanda.

Doue, 42, has been an international referee since 2004, and was at the centre when the Super Eagles were forced to a 2-2 draw by Guinea in their final 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match at the National Stadium, Abuja on October 8, 2011. The draw meant two-time champions Nigeria missed out of the finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.   Doue will be assisted at the June 17 match by compatriots Songuifolo Yeo (42, international assistant referee since 2004) as Assistant Referee 1, Moussa Bayere (37, international assistant referee since 2006) as Assistant Referee 2 and; Bienvenu Sinko (32, international referee since the beginning of this year) as Fourth Official.   The Match Commissioner is Abdoulaye Lawandji Mahamat from Tchad. Both teams played a 0-0 draw during the first leg in Kigali on February 29.

Siasia paraded a mediocre team and style, I don't just want to remember that bad dream. Ivoriens are in good company with Nigeria but a referee that really wanted to favour the Eagles wouldn't even see the opportunity to do so as they don't attack the post constantly in competitive games.

But trust Nig., they trashed Argentina 4:1 in a useless suspicious friendly and when the world wondered what might have been and asked for a re-match. The SE played like a rabbit caught in light as if what the world suspected did happen in Abuja.
