Ngulube's troubles started when he broke his leg in a tackle by Mpumalanga Black Aces defender Felix Musasa in May 2009 during the First Division/PSL Promotion Play-offs. Kicks later terminated his contract stating in a letter that he was no longer in the coach's plans, but the latter took the matter before the League's Dispute Resolution Chamber arguing that he was unfairly dismissed and he has now been vindicated. The DRC has ruled in favour of Ngulube in his case against the club and Kicks must pay him R58 000. Ngulube says he signed a contract with the club on 1 August 2008 that was to terminate on 30 June 2012. However, he was excluded by the club from the squad for the 2011-2012 season. The DRC found that the club had breached the contract with the player and made the following order: 1. Carara Kicks is to pay Ngulube the annual fee of R30 000 2. Carara Kicks is to pay the player the sum of R28 000 as damages consequent to the breach of contract 3. Should the total amount of R58 000.00 not be paid by Carara Kicks to the player within 30 days, the League will pay Ngulube from the grant due to Carara Kicks.
