NFD play-offs face postponement

The Premier Soccer League’s promotion-relegation play-offs face postponement

Posted: 22 May 2012 Time: 09:35 am

The PSL's Promotion/Relegation Play-offs are scheduled to kick off on Wednesday, but face postponement because of the threat of court action by Blackburn Rovers and Dynamos.

The first fixture in the mini-league between Thanda Royal Zulu and Santos has been set down for a 4pm kick-off in Richards Bay on Wednesday, but could be postponed while legal attempts are made to dispute the outcome of the National First Division.   Interdicts against the Play-offs have been threatened by Blackburn Rovers and Dynamos, according to PSL sources.   They are expected to be filed on Tuesday, seeking an urgent postponement of the Play-offs.   Blackburn missed out on the Play-offs after a surprise home loss to Bay United on the final day of the First Division season on Sunday, while Dynamos were relegated to the Vodacom League after losing 7-2 at Carara Kicks.   Both have told the PSL they intend challenging the validity of player registrations. The identities of the disputed players are not known, but the two clubs claim players have been fraudulently registered by Chippa United and one other as yet unknown club.

A statement is expected to be released on the matter by the PSL in the next 24 hours.

this is a waste of time and its not fair on santos and trz who are unaffected by these allegations but will have thier plans disrupted.its high time psl put into place rules that will prohibit any sorts of appeal once the season is over.i would have liked blackburn to go the playoffs but they let it slip playing at home.now they cum up wit this sort of crap? no,let the games begin

If the story is true, why did they not take this matter up once they were aware of the fraud? These clubs failed to win in the field of play, now they want to try their luck in the boardroom! Please do not waist time.

This is pathetic Rovers in Particular. This team led the log for the better part of the season and failed to winn promotion/playoffs! I watched Rovers play against Chippa recently in CT. To be honest they don't deserve playoffs let alone promotion.Their performance and style of play is so boring a they play stone age type of football...boring mxim

Let the legal team come up with a solution, whether we like it or not! There's many ways to kill an animal. If something fishy happened they have a right to complain its legaly. Everybody know the rules in NFD if u dont follow u will be caught

Even myself I was gona do what BR & D did, u have a right to complain whether u lost or win the game its up to the teams. U can play the game on the field or Board Room it doesnt matter as long as u get something.
