Thanda Royal Zulu and Chippa United will contest the promotion play-offs after victories on the final day of the season.

Thanda beat First Division champions University of Pretoria 1-0 to finish third in the standings - Peter Nwandike the hero with the solitary goal.

Chippa United also ensured their play-off spot, beating 10-man FC AK 4-0. Nkanyiso Zondi was shown a straight red card, while a brace from Petrus Ngebo and strikes from Roscoe Pietersen and Joshua Sauls made sure of the points – and second place.

It was harsh on Blackburn Rovers, whose 1-0 defeat to Bay United saw them drop out of the play-off places. For Bay, Brian Mashishi’s lone strike proved crucial as it moved them out of the relegation zone.

Mpumalanga Black Aces also survived relegation with a 1-0 win over FC Cape Town. Lottie Price was the hero on the day for Aces; his 41st-minute goal doing the business.

Aces finished in 14th place with 33 points, while FC Cape Town finished the season on 39 points in eighth place.

Carara Kicks trashed Dynamos 7-2 to relegate the side from Giyani. Braces from Luyolo Nomandela and Moeketsi Mvulo helped Kicks get the full three points. Mpho Mvelase, Tshepiso Motaung and Luvuyo Kelepu also netted for Kicks.

David Radebe score a brace as United FC beat Witbank Spurs 3-0. Mahaua Motumi scored the other as United finished on 39 points in ninth place.

Vasco da Gama and already-relegated Atlie FC played out to a 1-1 draw in Cape Town, meaning the team from Parow end seventh.

Sivutsa Stars were beaten 3-2 by African Warriors to move down into 12th place with 34 points, while Warriors finished above Vasco on goal difference.
