Kaizer Chiefs played to a disappointing goalless draw in their final match of the season as they failed to find the net against AmaZulu at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The first half was a game that lacked any real goalmouth action as neither team could create any clear-cut chances.
Chiefs did have the better of the play, but their build-up play was poor and instead they opted to shoot from long range.
In the 13th minute Bernard Parker was the first to fire a shot in anger, but Tapuwa Kapini was on hand, making a good save to deny the Amakhosi striker form 20 yards out.
AmaZulu had the best chance of the half in the 16th minute when Ayanda Dlamini made his way into the box, but Itumeleng Khune was quick off his goal line to smother the attacker and deny him a shot on goal.
The only other decent chance of the half fell to Parker, but again his 30-yard shot was well saved by Kapini.
The second half lacked any real action with the first real attempt on goal coming in the 68th minute.
Siphiwe Tshabalala got onto the end of a Mandla Masango cross, but he headed wide from six-yards out.
In the 84th minute Chiefs were bitterly unlucky not to take the lead when Masango hit the woodwork from 12-yards out.
In the end neither side could find the breakthrough and the game ended 0-0, meaning Chiefs finish in fifth place, while AmaZulu end seventh.
