'Iron Duke' focused on the League title

Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza says they are focused on retaining the League title

Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza says his side is fully focused on retaining the League title this weekend against Golden Arrows and will only announce the new coach at the end of the campaign.

Khoza said he doesn't want the team to lose focus on the League title by discussing the issue of the coach now, but rather wait until the season is over then he will announce who will coach the team next season.   Pirates play Golden Arrows this Saturday in a match which if they win, will win them League title at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

_quote "For us at the movement we don't want to defocus ourselves, we are concentrating on the last game of the season against Golden Arrows. Beyond the Arrows game is only when we can talk about what is going to happen with the issue of the coach," he said on Monday during the Black Label Curling Cup launch at Melrose Arch.   "For now we are remaining focused on the coach that is on the bench at the moment.  We are concentrating on making sure we give of our best chance to the upcoming game against Arrows," he said.   "We saw what happened with Manchester United and Manchester City this past weekend, so you cannot put more pressure on because the game itself is pressure for the coaches, management, supporters for everybody in the country therefore, let us not pile on more pressure by discussing other issues.   "We want everybody to remain focused and concentrate on the League in this last game as we want to make history by winning 'The Treble' back-to-back," he said.

Spot on Mr Chairman. Then after the weekend, we can announce Ruud Gullit as the next coach. He brings with him far more clout than Neeksens.

We are really honoured to have you as our father, Dr Khoza.

In you we believe that come the time of announcing the coach you will certainly bring the right person.

It's good that you made mention of it that this media sponsored by zebras is trying hard to shift our focus by reporting on negative things in our camp but like you say we must remain focused.

Confused here:\

Is Chairman a man who sit on that big chair, or a leader who sit on a stool?

I think its a wise move by Dr Khoza, we need all the concentration we can get for this 1. But in future Sir, plz dont sack da coach middle of da league, because as far as I can see it, Pirates wouldn't be in this situation, & we would be da Nedbank finalists by now. Up da Bucs.

Maybe i suspect this is why i was born a BUCCANEAR, intelligent leadership is the order of the day in this family.

Now Dr, make sure we get rid of Mabena after this double treble celebration and bring on players that can compete in Africa.
