Former Sharks defender Monday Inebia Kalio slumped and died at the age of 34 of a suspected heart attack on Saturday in Port Harcourt.
Inebia, more widely known as Junior, collapsed 10 minutes into a local kick about with his Liverpool All Stars team and was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, the Seaside Medical Centre before being moved to the government-owned Braithewaite Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The day before, Inebia had also taken part in another local kick about at the popular No 6 field where Port Harcourt-based footballers usually play.
In 2009, Inebia was diagnosed with a heart problem during a routine medical check at Sharks.
He was subsequently dropped and advised to quit football.
