Nigeria suffered a wipe-out in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday as Warri Wolves and Heartland were both eliminated on away goals rule.
Wolves took a 3-1 lead lead to South African PSL strugglers Black Leopards, but were beaten 2-0 and dumped out.
Heartland had a mountain to climb heading into their own fixture in Congo. The Owerri side needed a late goal to secure the 3-2 win in the first leg, and we're walking a tightrope going into the second.
It was a hurdle they failed to scale, as the hosts won 2-1 on the day.
Sunshine Stars were left to provide cheering new fr Nigeria, beating Mali's Djoliba 1-0 to advance to the group stages of the CAF Champions League after a 1-1 draw in the away leg.

If you want to have a go at Siasia, you accuse him of using overaged players under the leadership of Lulu but when supporting Lulu, Siasia's achievement in 2005 is one of the reasons given: what an irony.
Back to the headline above, NFF must have an international department that looks into the continental competition of our clubsides. Report from Congo where Warri Wolves played showed that they were left in the airport unattended to for 5 hours. Incidents like these have happened to our clubsides in time past without anyone acting. Instead, we accuse of the players of not being good enough. Even in the days where Al Ahly was unbeatable in Africa, they often employ this unsportsmanly tactics. Enyimba had to be prepared mentally and materially in order to match them in their own game. The earlier the NFF assists the clubsides, the better for us otherwise the only hope we have in Sunshine Stars will soon get dashed.
