Rovers keep pressure on Tuks

First Division round up: promotion and relegation

Posted: 10 May 2012 Time: 08:11 am

University of Pretoria's dreams of promotion were put on hold when second-placed Blackburn Rovers beat Dynamos 1-0 to stay six points behind AmaTuks with two games to play.

AmaTuks had beaten FC Cape Town 2-0 earlier in the day, moving to 55 points, while Rovers are on 49. CLICK HERE for the NFD log

Thanda Royal Zulu's Play-offs place is still in doubt, after they lost yet another match, against Sivutsa Stars 2-1. Thanda move out of the Play-offs zone into fifth place, while Stars move away from the bottom five.

Chippa United are back in contention for the Play-offs after they beat Witbank Spurs 1-0 away from home and moved to third place.

Meanwhile FC AK beat African Warriors 2-1 at Eldorado Park to move closer to a Play-off position, with 45 points, while Warriors remain on 40.

A 10-man Mpumalanga Black Aces fought hard to make sure they left Cape Town with a point. Two first-half goals from Gregory Roelf and Damian Mitchel were no enough to give Vasco da Gama the full three points, after a goal from Ramulondi Walter, who was later red carded, and a late equaliser from Mokete Tsotetsi made sure Aces get a point away from home. Aces are back in the bottom two with 27 points.

Bay United ended their bad run of form when they beat United FC 2-0 away from home. The win moved Bay above Aces with 29 points.

Atlie FC, who have not had a good run lately, got a much needed win when they beat Carara Kicks 3-1 away from home. Atlie, however, are on 26 points and still rock bottom, while Kicks are on 32. Have your say on Facebook: Who do you hope to see in the Premiership next season?

Black Aces ur a disapointment, please don't embarass us the people of Mpumalanga, Change ur name to Gauteng Black Aces because you relocated to Gauteng. Ur no longer based in Mpumalanga. The only Mpumalanga teams in the NFD that we know and are proud of them are Sivutsa Stars and Siyavutha Witbank Spurs. Go to hell Black Aces. Thabo "T Bose" Moroape whereever he is might be smiling to death after dismissing him. In the history of SA football never before a team being relegated into lower divisions into two successive seasons. But here is Black Aces breaking the record, being relegated from the PSL in the 2010/11 season and then now in the 2011/12 season they will be relegated from the NFD.
