Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has one goalkeeper ahead of Peru clash

Posted: 9 May 2012 Time: 13:51

Stephen Keshi has only one goalkeeper available to him as he opened training last weekend with his squad.

Keshi is getting his team ready for a May 23 friendly against Peru, but has excused two of the three invited goalkeepers.   Sharks' Okemute Odah is the sole goalie in camp with Warri Wolves Chigozie Agbim and Heartland's Daniel Akpeyi away on continental duties with their respective clubs.   The Super Eagles are scheduled to play a tune-up game against their Under 20 juniors on Friday, but goalkeeper trainer Ike Shorunmu is confident Odah will be up to the task.   The game will be played on the Practice Pitch of the National Stadium, Abuja.   Keshi has told his wards that he expects 100 per cent dominance from the senior national team, even as he also advised the players to take it easy on the day.

This coach is beating about the bush. Why train with local chicken but later use foreign chicken to play and lose matches. He will be sacked cos he is clueless

Thank you, that is the real truth about the coach. A clever coach suppose to play match with the boys that has been training together, not inviting strangers on match day
