Celtic too smart for Clever Boys

An early goal by Lerato Manzini and a brace by Ruzaigh Gamildien gave Bloemfontein Celtic a 3-1 win over Bidvest Wits at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The home side earned themselves a consolation goal scored by Bongolwethu Jayiya.
The visitors were the first to find the back of the net in Johannesburg when Manzini’s left-footed shot from 25-yards out on the left channel beat keeper Energy Murambadoro and went straight into the bottom-right side of goal to make it 1-0 to the visitors.
Before the dust even settled, Celtic compounded more misery to Roger de Sa’s men when a cross by Luyanda Hlongwa from the rightwing was turned into goal by Gamildien’s left-footed shot from 25-yards on the left channel to make it 2-0 in the 12th minute.
The Clever Boys were clearly shocked by the early setback and it could have been worse when Gamildien’s right-footed shot from 20-yards out on the right channel went over the bar in the 28th minute.
The home side had their first real attempt on goal in the 39th minute when Asive Langwe’s right-footed shot from 25-yards on the left side sailed over the bar.
Celtic took a 2-0 lead into the break, but the Clever Boys were quick off the blocks in the second stanza and found the breakthrough they were desperately looking for.
An in-swinging right-footed corner kick by Langwe into the box was headed by Jayiya into the bottom-left of goal from 12-yards out.
It was now 2-1 to the home side after 47 minutes. But the home side’s hopes of a comeback were soon killed by Gamildien’s brace.
His right-footed shot from 20-yards out on the right channel found the top-left corner of the net in the 55th minute to make it 3-1.
Exactly on the hour mark the visitors’ keeper was called into action. A long range right-footed shot by Jayiya from 30-yards out on the right channel was tipped over the bar by Celtic keeper Thabani Stemmer.
The match ended 3-1 as the visitors ran out comfortable winners. The defeat leaves De Sa’s team five points above the relegation zone as they continue their horrible 2012 winless run in the league.
