The University of Pretoria got their National First Division promotion hopes back on track after thrashing Sivutsa Stars 4-0 on Sunday.

AmaTuks are now two points clear at the top of the table with 46 points, while Stars remain 12th on 26 points and are still not safe from relegation.    One of the other top-of-the-table clashes over the weekend was between Thanda Royal Zulu and Blackburn Rovers. Both teams still in with a chance of promotion, but it was Thanda who edged the game 1-0.

The victory moves Thanda into second place with 44 points, while Rovers slip into third with 42 points.   Vasco da Gama lost more ground in the promotion battle when they drew 2-2 with United FC. This means that Vasco are eight points behind the leaders, while United are safely stuck in mid-table on 35 points.   Chippa United got back to winning ways when they beat struggling Dynamos 3-2 to move into fourth place, but it's bad news for Dynamos, who are joint-bottom with Atlie FC, who lost 1-0 to fellow strugglers Witbank Spurs.

African Warriors closed the gap between themselves and Vasco with a victory over Bay United thanks to goals from Shadrack Sithole and an own-goal from Mashiane Phadu. Thapelo Mathibe netted for the losing side.

Mpumalanga Black Aces hosted FC AK hoping to move away from the relegation zone, but they could only manage a point following a 1-1 draw. It leave them third from bottom, a point better off than Dynamos and Atlie.

Carara Kicks and Cape Town FC played out to a goalless draw and a match which doesn't really have much baring on either half of the table.   CLICK HERE for the First Division Results and table.
