Sarpong's side threw away a two goal lead to draw 2-2 against New Edubiase last Sunday and Sarpong was left fuming by the decisions of referee Mohammed Awal who awarded the home side a penalty in the game.
"I would not be surprised if somebody will be shot on the field one day, I will not be surprised," an angry Sarpong claimed.
Those comments have landed Sarpong in trouble with the GFA whose ethics committee will now meet the coach on March 20.
"On allegation of unethical comment you [JE Sarpong] made against the Referee who handled New Edubiase FC and Liberty Professionals match on Metro TV, an Accra-based TV Station, the matter has been referred to the Ethics Committee for investigation and necessary action," a GFA statement said.
