Calvin Kadi continued his excellent form in Greece with another goal for Veria as they beat Vyzas 3-1 to move back to second in the table in Sunday.
It means goals in consecutive matches for the former Bidvest Wits forward to take his tally for the season to seven in 17 starts.
The Belgian Jupiler League took the weekend off so there were no games for the likes of Anele Ngcongca, Daylon Claasen and Ayanda Patosi, while neither of South Africa’s young stars in the Dutch League saw action either.
Kamohelo Mokotjo was an unused substitute for Feyenoord, while Thulani Serero did not even make the bench for Ajax Amsterdam.
Bafana Bafana skipper Steven Pienaar was not allowed to feature for Everton in their 1-0 home win over Tottenham Hotspur as he is on loan at The Toffees from Spurs.
There was no sign of Bongani Khumalo on the bench for Spurs either and it looks as though he will have to settle for reserve team football until the end of the season.
There was no Kagisho Dikgacoi for Crystal Palace in the English Championship as he battles back from a hamstring injury picked up in Bafana Bafana’s 0-0 draw with Senegal that has left his coach, Dougie Freedman, perhaps a little unfairly fuming at Safa.
Dean Furman continues to sit on the sidelines for Oldham with a knee injury that has seen him out of action since mid-January.
Dino Ndlovu’s Israeli side Bnei Yehuda continued their strong finish to the season when they beat Hapoel Be'er Sheva 5-1 to cement their place in the top half of the table.
Cheyne Fowler was replaced in the second half as his new Finnish side VPS lost 2-1 to JJK in the pre-season Liiga Cup.
Tsepo Masilela (Getafe, Spain), Bevan Fransman (Hapoel Tel Aviv, Israel) and Delron Buckley (Karlsruher, Germany), are all in action on Monday night.
