Speaking on the move – linking the Nigeria international with a move to Tottenham Hotspur – manager of the side Mark Hughes admitted he is unsurprised that Taiwo is attracting attention of rival clubs.
The former Lobi Stars ace signed for QPR on loan from Serie A side AC Milan in January, making four appearances so far, and has previously suggested that the club are keen to make the move permanent.
And Hughes has indicated that he is happy with the 26-year-old’s displays so far.
“I haven’t heard that interest, Taye is a very good player, he’s integrated into the group very well, comes into training every day with a smile on his face and he’s good to have around,” said Hughes.
“He has undoubted ability, he has played at the top clubs in Europe. He’s doing very well at the moment and I’m not surprised that other clubs will have a look at him and possibly be interested, but at the moment he’s very happy here, and we’re happy with him.”
Meanwhile, Taiwo is “fine” with reports linking him with a move to Tottenham.
Taiwo, who moved to Loftus Road from AC Milan in January, has settled well into life in the premier League and recently claimed that QPR were keen to make the move permanent.
The 26-year-old, who had fallen out of favour at the San Siro after moving to Italy from Marseille, has been linked with QPR’s London rivals Spurs.
However, while the Nigerian international is flattered with the link he played down the reports, telling Sky Sports: “I am liking life in London to be honest and I am playing week in, week out here and love that.
“Being linked with Tottenham? If it is true it is fine, I have been linked with them before.
“I belong to Milan so if a club is interested they know what to do.”
