Leopards host Motor Action of Zimbabwe in the CAF Confederations Cup at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, while Bucs will entertain Angolan side CRD Libolo in the Champions League in Port Elizabeth on Sunday. Both games kick off at 15h00.
Pirates enter this year's competition having last lifted the trophy in 1995, while Lidoda Duvha are making their debut after booking their ticket to Africa following their success of reaching the Nedbank Cup Final last year.
Bucs boss Irvin Khoza has already given a mandate to the players and technical staff to win the Champions League and honour the club's 75th anniversary, and it will be interesting to see how coach Julio Leal and his players react to the huge task of adding a second star to the club's jersey.
Speaking to KickOff.com, Leopards spokesperson Tendani Thidiela appealed to the people in Limpopo to come out in big numbers and support the club against Motor Action.
“We are ready and determined to do well,” he says. “This is the first time we participate in such a tournament, but we will approach it the same way when we play the League or any domestic tournament … with the will and determination to win.
“This is the first club in Limpopo to qualify for such a tournament and we appeal to all the people in the province to come out in big numbers and support the team.”
Bucs communication manager Mickey Modisane says only Benson Mhlongo of the players registered for the CAF tournament will miss the game against the Angolan side.
“Our preparations for the game have gone well,” he says. “We know that we are now representing the whole of South Africa and it will be important to win the game on Sunday with big margin to make our job easy for the second leg in Angola.”

With the money and quality of players we have, there is no reason we cant win this prestigous trophy and make the country proud again and our enemies!
Orlando Pirates + Black leopards = 50 million hopes.

SA must make Pirates proud - we have done this before in 95 and we all know what happened in 96.
Black Leopards must just bow out of this competition if they stil value their PSL status. Just a simple business advise.
