Juju calls for improvement

After struggling to three points against Black Leopards last night, Orlando Pirates have now shifted their focus to the CAF Champions League encounter against Angolan side Recreativo do Libolo.

Thulasizwe Mbuyane scored the only goal of the game as Bucs struggled to get rid of the rustiness brought on by two months of inactivity, and they know they will need to do much better in Port Elizabeth on Sunday

“First games back after a long break are always difficult, but I’m happy that we got the three points,” goal-hero Mbuyane tells KickOff.com.

“It was nice to get on the score-sheet, but the win was due to team effort as everybody gave his best to make sure that we got the three points.”

He adds: “Our next focus now is on the CAF Champions League game on Sunday. This is a must-win game for us to make sure that we go into the second leg enjoying a healthy lead.

“It’s difficult to play this kind of games at home because these teams will only come here for a draw, but I am confident that we will get a great victory in PE on Sunday.”

Bucs leave for Port Elizabeth, boosted by the returns from suspension of Ruben Cloete and Oupa Manyisa.

We are playing Kaak period. Juju tell Julio not to become like Krol. Why was he not substituting? Why bring Boa 2 minutes to go? That is why Tevez ended-up fighting with Mancini cause of similar things like this. We have 30 players in our books? Why is it difficult to make a substitution? Most of the players were tired in the second half. If we continue playing like this we must kiss the African Championship, The league and the Nedbank Cup good-bye. I was at the stadium yeterday and regreted that i should have gone to the pub instead. The coach and you players must pull up your socks.

I always knew that Pierats is the luckiest team in the PSL. They were supposed to lose the match, but some luck was there- maybe the safa nyanga signed a contract with cowsa- they won with a doom-doom soccer without a creative midfield, playing wingers and two defensive midfielders in what seemed like a 7-2-1 formation. But their nyanga will seem like a Grade-R pupil compared to Africa's nyangas.

I know most of the teams didn't play well, but Champ, champions should not play like that, tell me honestly did you enjoy the game after 15 minutes. Why is our coach afraid to substitute? Critics will build them. What we need is improvement in the next game. Hoping last night performance was due to rustness.

I was very much dissapointed by Pirates display last night. First half we played better. Second half Pirates was just pathetic. The worst thing Leal is so stupid and sturbbon why didn't substitute players who were performing? He substitute very late in the dying minutes of the game. Why not introduce Boa Marte early in the second half knowing very well the player won't play in Champions league Sunday. Mabena is just useless, why keep on fielding him though he fails to deliver and leave Rantie on the bench? If Leal continues like that I that he's very close on getting his ticket to his native country!!

This team play 1 hell of an ugly football for champs. I am glad even their players hav notice that. the results oriented soccer has killed and destroy the football culture of pieRETE. @king. Don't compare pirates and superspor cos am sure if pirates were playing like ssp when u first saw them you wouldn't hav fallen in luv. Under Krol pirates decide to play di***** n run soccer and they won the treble. But according to my knowledge, Leal was hired to restore that flare beautiful flowing football that we recently witness when Papic was around.

I think people forget that when Pirates was not coming 1st, they would settle for a 2nd position sometimes end up on equal points with the number 1. The point here Sweyts is that Pirates has been coming 2nd all these year, we did reach cup finals and we where playing the best football in AFRICA.
