Kick Off midweek PSL predictions
Posted: 15 February 2012 Time: 16:47
As the rough and tumble of the PSL resumes, Tiyani wa ka Mabasa puts his head on a block and predicts tonight's results!
The two-month break affected all teams, so predicting a result could depend on how they fared in the first 15 League matches ...
Orlando Pirates vs Black Leopards Pirates haven't lost a match at home all season and on the other hand Leopards have more often than not lost their matches on the road. Lidoda Duvha will have to dig deep to get even a point in Orlando, but I don't think they will put up much of a fight so Pirates will take all three points. Prediction: Pirates win
Moroka Swallows vs Santos Santos have the third worst defence in the League and of course Nasief Morris is on loan from SuperSport United, but the reason he played three League games out of 15 at SuperSport United was because he became what you could call the N1 so yes they signed a defender, but it could well have been the wrong man. So I expect Santos to concede goals at the Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium. Prediction: Swallows win
AmaZulu vs Mamelodi Sundowns Usuthu have lost only twice in 10 matches under Roger Palmgren and the Brazilians have not lost a match in 10 League outings. Sundowns have been consistent, but AmaZulu have really improved. Prediction: Draw
Ajax Cape Town vs Platinum Stars
The Urban Warriors play better at home; while Dikwena have the worst away record after losing seven of their eight matches on the road.
Prediction: Ajax win
Jomo Cosmos vs Kaizer Chiefs Chiefs have the best defence in the League alongside AmaZulu, but their strikers aren't getting things right and of course Cosmos are the basement side, but I think they can walk away with a point here. Prediction: Draw
Bloemfontein Celtic vs Golden Arrows Celtic are undefeated at home this season, but it will be interesting to see how they play at their new ground at the Botshabelo Stadium. Nonetheless, I still expect them to win this match. Prediction: Celtic win
Bidvest Wits vs Maritzburg United I think the Maritzburg United management erred when they sacked [not specifically for poor results] and roped in Ernst Middendorp, who previously failed the club. Wits may have lost Sifiso Myeni, who was consistent, but I still expect them to win this match. Prediction: Wits win
SuperSport United vs Free State Stars The wheels have come off for SuperSport United after losing their last three League matches before the break, but then again Stars are in the same boat having lost their last two matches to Chiefs and Sundowns. Prediction: Draw
