Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune lauds Zambia's Kennedy Mweene

Khune lauds Mweene

Posted: 2012-02-13 16:15

Itumeleng Khune says he was greatly inspired by Kennedy Mweene's heroics at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Zambian international, who plays his club football for Free State Stars, kept some potent strikers at bay as he played a sterling role to guide Chipolopolo to their first Afcon title, and was subsequently rewarded with a place in the Team of the Tournament.

Khune, who was watching on TV following Bafana Bafana's failure to qualify for the tournament, has commended Mweene for putting in some great displays throughout the tournament.

"Firstly, I want to congratulate Zambia for winning the Afcon," Khune says.

"I also want to congratulate Kennedy Mweene for the way he performed. As a goalkeeper, I thought he did tremendously well and I was deeply touched by his performance, especially at that level.

"I was inspired by him, especially because we share the same fields here in South Africa," Khune adds.

Mweene kept four clean sheets in six matches during the tournament and received widespread plaudits for his efforts.

@ Champ Nespray

It is obvious that you are a Nyaope addict. Your comments never make sense. How did Khune "rob" you of Afcon if I may ask. Did he concede stupid goals during the qualifiers ...?

Our chances of qualifying were dented by Tlou Segolela who failed to score in a one-on-one situation with the Egyptian keeper.

Khune must just concentrate on his buttock injury & leave goal keeping to those who excel at a high level unlike him who peformed dismally during the 2009 Conf Cup, 2010 WC, AFCON campaign & let KC down on numerous occasions.

u failed to ansa king not long ago on khunes article where he ask u on wat basis is khune mzansi namba one...let an idiot teach u a thing or two

positve statement-is an objective statement of fact

normative statemnt-is based on values n beliefs, can b argued over generations...n u cant prove if one is wrong or right

chiefs fans are failing each day to argue wth bucs on positive statement n instead they opt for normative statement which has no solution

khune was dancing n waisting time unnecesarily in bafana last game of de qualifiers---normative or positive statement (choose n ansa tzozo)

lastly ur one of de blogas dat i respect de most. dnt call me an idiot anymore...i can reduce u to nothing within minutes. all psl does not log if im around, i once deal wth him. dont lose my respect...lets rather argue in a mature manner...i pause

The overrated one has spoken.

He had a bad perfomance at the Confederations.
He had a bad world cup and earned himself a red card.
He conceded some stupid and easy goals which resulted to his team loosing out on the PSL race.
He contributed to SA failing to qualify for AFCON

In conclusion, Khune does n't deserve to be first choice, but again a stupid coach in Pitso is the one overrating this Hlokoloza clown.

I would be proud if selected by Pitso to be number one. Perreira preferd Rowen, but Pitso pushed Khune's agenda.

"Khune, who was watching on TV following Bafana Bafana's failure to qualify for the tournament..."

Was it necessary to mention above, you're merely trying to create unnecessary debate about his so-called time-delaying tactics by those who lack football brain, had BB qualified, he would have been a nation darling and also he acted upon coach's behest, the message that was conveyed allegedly by Marks Maponyane.

I think somehow it was blessing disguise for us not to qualify because Khune was injury who would have deputised him

Ja vele idiots resort to using pompous language when their arguments don't hold water. They end up confusing fellow bloggers but themselves as well. You'll reduce idiots of your nature to nothing. Punk!

Please stop being stupid. Khune did not cost SA a spot in AFCON. It was an administrative error. Coach should be held accountable not Khune. I know you are very dumb but behave to be intelling sometimes

_______

@ Dr Prof,

Why are you angry at TTM because he is telling the truth. Didn't Khune watch the AFCON on TV?

There is no debate about his time wasting tactics, they are a fact & a story that will be told to the generations to come about a foolish shokoloza dancer that..... I have also used Khune's ****ogy to my employees during team building where I emphasised the issue of time (which can not be recycled), selfishness (in thinking you are doing the best for the team), lack of accountability to your actions, faking whatnots instead of tackling the failure, etc.

Had Hlokoloza FC qualified or not, Khune would have not been my darling because those who have followed my comments for years know that I questioned the veneration of Khune which stoped his development long before the Confed Cup.

You are right, some of us do not have brains but have mental capacicy called mind. Like you a chicken has a brain.

Why are you blaming Pitso for Khune's shortcomings & bringing another cabbage in a form of Maponyane into your arguement?

The wife abuser, Sara Batman would have deputised, Pitso has a thing for KC.

I hope you won't resort to insults but if you do I'll understand, Bobby has sodomised you sooooo heartlessly including his father who equated you to street vendors.... an insult to our family members who are active in the informal economy. Who in his right mind wants to be compared to a KC supporter?

Koko: administrative error plus chimps mentality of wining games. hoping for a penalty each n evry game. look at wat bucs mentality did to zambia...im tired of singing, "chiefs mas withdraw their playas from bafana cos they withdrew the team from champs lig". this is were lies the problem. bafana is being used as a breeding nation by chimps

For the keepers who dont fake injuries during the match, who dont waste time making sure that his country dont qualify for the continental tourney and dont dance for a draw.

Zakumi.com : 2012-02-13 18:17

I wonder if it was Möneeb Josefa who was waisting time n jaiving (if he know how to jaive), what chibuku fans fans would say to him.

@champ nespray, purity, or pampers: you are smoking socks and unreasonable. u r talking a used [female what-what] disposal. khune is simply praising the guy and happy for him, but wena u decide 2 wiping yo lerago with other people's positive opinions as always - grow up big man.....

Cruiser: 2012-02-13 23:25

Yes that means we have a problem in SA,one will expect you to congratulate a Goalie who kept a clean sheet throughout the tournament which in this case was Barry of Ivory Coast but anyway you are entitled to your opinion

KidKudu7: 2012-02-13 23:53

It's clear if Bafana Bafana are to get back to their winning ways & display some attractive excellent footbal, SAFA must fire Pitso, period.

I mean really now, what has he done for the nation in terms of football???

Fatso wa Le Khosi: 2012-02-14 09:09

I am disappointed in the manner in which guys like,deBuc,champ nespray is a movie star look-alike coach and others who are busy misleading nation about Khune robbing the Nation a place in AFCON.

lets put the facts on what happened during our AFCON Qualification:
1. Khune kept 5 clean sheet out of 6 matches ( 83%)
2. Khune only conceded 2 goals during the qualifications
3. Bafana Bafana only scored 4 goals in 6 matches
4. Our strikers failed to score goals during the qualifiers
5. Segolela missed sitter that should hav taken us 2 AFCON
FACT: OUR STRIKING DEPARTMENT FAILED COST US PLACE IN AFCON & THE GOALKEEPING DEPARTMENT DID EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. BRAVO TO THE GOALKEEPING DEPARTMENT.

Sbujo: 2012-02-14 09:34

Well said Fatso wa Le Khosi.

Lets not show our ignorance and hate by discrediting Khune. Fact is as a goalkeeper u as good as ur defense. Khune is well known for organising his defense, look at the stats and then comment.

waste time because even if they draw that game they will qualify,so plz rats fans stop talking nonsense accept that Khune is the best in mzantsi don't blame him blame safa or khoza by not knowing the rules.(Khosi4league)

Zosha: 2012-02-17 14:04

Khune just keep your big mouth shut and concetrate on Chiefs. You wasted time in the last qualifier then danced like hell after the game thinking you had qualified. Idiot
