Chansa could leave Bucs

Orlando Pirates might face the prospect of losing their influential midfielder Isaac Chansa soon.
The Zambian star has helped his national team qualify for the Final of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon this Sunday. Chansa will play in what will arguably be the match of his career when he lines up against a star-studded Ivory Coast side.
But the Bucs faithful might have to make room in their hearts for disappointment as it seems that Chansa’s days at The Sea Robbers might be numbered.
"Naturally there's an abundance of interest in Isaac given his pioneering form for Orlando Pirates in the last 18 months, which culminated in an unprecedented trophy haul and his recent forays at the Nations Cup,” said Chansa’s agent Ashley Rasool.
Chansa, who joined Pirates in 2004, is in his second spell at the Buccaneers after having left the Soweto giants to pursue a career in Europe with Helsingborg in 2007.
He returned in the 2009/10 season and it seems that he may be headed for European shores once again.
“For the record he is delighted to be part of the current Orlando Pirates set-up and has thoroughly enjoyed their recent successes,” Rasool continues.
“However, to date we have not engaged with Pirates’ management or any other club regarding his future. Perhaps we'll have a clearer picture post Nations Cup.
“For now Isaac's focus is firmly on what possibly may be the most important game of his career."
Chansa said this from his base at the Nations Cup: “We will see what happens when I go back. They [Pirates] told me I have to concentrate on the Africa Cup.
“There are one or two teams that are interested in me and we will know what my future looks like will be when I get back,” Chansa says.
Meanwhile, Rasool was quick to say that they will not be rushed nor fooled into action.
“He [Isaac] is approaching a crucial stage in his career which is why we will not make any hasty decisions regarding his immediate future.”
