Uche owed Xamax wages

Posted: 2012-02-08 15:35

Nigeria midfielder Kalu Uche has settled into life at Espanyol, but has told KickOffNigeria.com that he is still owed 3 months wages by his disgraced former club Neuchatel Xamax.

The Swiss club had their license withdrawn and ejected from the Swiss league over fraudulent bank documents, and Uche subsequently joined Spanish side Espanyol.

"I did my best for Xamax but got nothing in return. I am still being owed 3 months wages but it is okay. I thank God for my move," he told KickOffNigeria.com.

Uche has taken little time to hit his stride in Spain, claiming an assist in Saturday's 3-3 draw at Espanyol and said familiarity with the league and the fear of a repeat experience prompted his choice

"I feel very good coming to Spain and to Espanyol.

"I had offers from other places but I chose to come to back to Spain because I'm familiar with the league and also I didn’t want to have the experience I had at Xamax.

And as to whether or not he'll be pushing to get his unpaid wages, the midfielder says he just wants to focus on football.

"We'll see how it goes, but for now, all I want to do is focus on my new club."

I said it earlier if people could remember , that 'Ghana thinks that winning the nations cup is like going to market to buy onions and crayfish' : how many forunites remember this ??????

And yesterday I asked, 'if Ghana had been in Ivory coast group at the 2010 world cup ( involving Portugal,Brazil and North Korea), would they have qualified ? , how many forunites remember this ????
Most times we talk carelessly but we're very precise.

Its Zambia Vs Ivory Coast for final and Ivory Coast wins the cup.

Ndi Ghana Ndi ara.

Ghanaians, I thought you boasted that you are the giant of African. What happened then today. The lowly rated ordinary Zambian trashed you to silly. This is a great lesson to you idiots who feel that you have arrived in football when you are yet to start. Shame to you. Up Zambia

I exceedingly rejoice with Zambians for helping to shut the mouth of Ghana FA chairman, Nyantaki, who had the effontery to state that Nigeria, Cameroun and Egypt are no more giants of African football.

I remember saying pride goes before a fall. The Ghanaians thought they already had it in the bag. Their body language reflected over confidence. Their FA chairman full of arrogance.

I am hoping that Mali do same to Cote D' Ivoire. I am hoping. Just hoping.

Congrats Zambia! You have made My day!

Shijo: 2012-02-08 20:48

Where are our Ghanaian colleagues? The ones who come on KickoffNigeria to taunt Nigerians and SE and gloat? How would they feel if we now do the same to them? Now they will understand the feeling of disappointment and frustration that we feel, when the National team underperforms in major tournaments!!

Amata Plus: 2012-02-09 09:57

@mega, let me show you what's in the mirror: a Ghanaian nation that allowed pride to enter their heads, to the extent that their FA chairman stated that former African champions nigeria, egypt and cameroun are no longer giants of the African game. Why? Like you, he equals non-qualification for just one AFCON to loss of status as a football great!

I personally anticipated and celebrated Ghana's loss because any people or nation that have no sense of respect for my country, no matter how bad things are currently, do not deserve an iota of good will from me.

You are crying for a people that renamed the national team of nigeria? Many of us have lost our sense of national pride. We would rather be a Ghanaian or Zambian. Why? Their football is on the high presently.

We have been there and done that. We are down now. Question: which team can you name that hasn't been down in the world; england, brazil, spain, holland? Please, tell me!

If we don't see the down slide of our team as a natural occurence, then we should get used to being down permanently!

By the way, when did Ghana recover from the slump that started as far back as the late 80s? When last did they win the AFCON?

Mega, love your country. With Boko haram and a terribly inept visionless NFF or not! Love naija!!!!

Very delighted that Uche is back in the La Liga with a big club.

The jubilation of yesterday's game which Zambia convincingly won is beyond explanation here in Jhb.

Weep not Ghanaians... hahhaa!!!(laugh) Listen, the bible rightly warns, "A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit(Proverbs 29:23) Also I refer you to the book of (Jeremiah 9:23) "“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches.
what could have happened if Ghanains were ivory coast?...hahhha(laugh) How many player in ghana can be a match to ivorien? hhahhaa....... laughing stock

Mega: 2012-02-10 10:08

For those seeking my attention.
Here is the fact. Cameroun could be considered a giant . They won the trophy back to back in 00/02. and have done well in past editions. Have a better world cup record.
Egypt? No need to go there coz they are still the champions.

Nigeria? When was the last time we won stuff? AFCON 94 . That was 18years ago!!! winning under aged competitions doesn't make a team great. Ar senal under 18s have won a bunch of trophies in the English league in the past 3 years.
Does any of u here even know one member of the team? NOPE!
FACT: GHANA IS A MUCH BETTER FOOTBALLING NATION AT THE MOMENT.NIGERIA HAS BEEN DETHRONED. Let's accept our problems and look for ways to solve them. Hate the game not the player.

Peace
