SuperSport United have flown out on a mid-season camp to Stellenbosch near Cape Town where they will round up their mid-season preparations ahead of the resumption of the League next week.

The former champions travelled out to the Mother City early this morning on an early flight and immediately went out for a training session upon landing.

Matsatsantsa a Pitori will then play a friendly match against Santos tonight at Athlone Stadium and have another a date with Vasco da Gama tomorrow before they wrap up their tour against FC Cape Town on Friday.

Gavin Hunt has taken all of his 26 players available including all the January transfer window signings Mabhuti Khenyeza, Franklin Cale, Edwin Gyimah and Sameehg Doutie.

Hunt has also taken Botswana internationals Mogogi Gabonamong and Dipsy Selolwane following their return from the Africa Cup of Nations.

“We just needed to get away from our base and get the team together so that we are ready for the resumption of the League next week. A change of scenery and having players together in camp is always good in these kinds of situations. We will also be playing a number of friendly matches while we are here,” says Hunt.

SuperSport resume their title challenge against Free State Stars at home next Wednesday.

It is quiet surprising to see how some African players quickly went back to their teams after their Afcon tumble.Dipsy,Mogogi,Cisse & Ba.

Gone are the days of the likes of Mbesuma who will give himself extended leave. What a waste.
