Cape Town All Stars warn Kaizer Chiefs

'Beware, Kaizer Chiefs!'

Vodacom League side Cape Town All Stars say they want to ‘do a Baroka FC’ by dumping Kaizer Chiefs out of the Nedbank Cup.

All Stars were pitted against Chiefsin the draw in Sandton last night, and the Amakhosi faithful will be hoping to avoid further embarrassment after being dumped out of the competition by Sello Chokoe’s men last season.

But All Stars general manager Faeez Dulvie tells KickOff.com that his players are looking at making names for themselves by causing a major upset against the Soweto giants.

“We are very excited to play a big team like Kaizer Chiefs,” he says. “It will obviously be tough, but anything is possible as was proven last season and hopefully we can do the same.”

Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic is keen to avoid another embarrassing defeat and has vowed that his team will approach the match with the respect it deserves.

“Every game for is important,” he says. “Cup games are always interesting; it’s good to see the small teams motivated to play against the big teams. We will try our best to do better in this competition than we did last season.”

Cape Town All Stars will be playing in the Nedbank Cup for the first time after forming in 2010.

I dont trust anything with my team these days... the last time I defended it against Baroka I said baroka wont do the FC Cape Town thing, and defended them years earlier that Fc Cape Town wont do the Tuks thing... now am not sure. I love my team but history is a very vengeful woman, or Bitc....

Somehow you stoop low when it comes to Kick off forum compared to your input on the Metro FM show with Robert Marawa.Can you explain that to me please,I mean these teams don't up their game only against Amakhosi.The media which has always supported Chiefs is the reason for this and you add that to the fact that any Tom playing for Chiefs is regarded as the next big thing hence this unnessesary pressure on players and the same media only give "the other teams " coverage and exposure when they face Chiefs hence the motivation from "minnows".
