New Orlando Pirates midfielder Sifiso Myeni is confident he will bounce back sooner than expected after having the plaster on his ankle removed at the weekend.
Myeni dislocated his ankle during a League game in December against Platinum Stars while still in the colours of Bidvest Wits.
Speaking to KickOff.com, Myeni confirms he start his rehabilitation programme on Monday.
"There is steady progress on my injury and I should be back earlier than expected," he says. "I am starting my rehab on Monday and will wait for the doctor and physio to tell me when I'll be back in action.
"I am crossing my fingers that I should be ready three games into the second round."
Meanwhile, Daine Klate and Happy Jele are also making good recoveries from their respective injuries.
Klate is in a race against time to be fit for the resumption of the League after recovering from a back injury.
And Jele, who was initially ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury, has been doing some light jogging and could well play a part in the run-in.
"He is progressing really well and is now running with a lot of protective material on his knee. If he continues to responding well to treatment, he could be back in action sooner than we had anticipated," says club spokesman Mickey Modisane.
