Orlando Pirates' upcoming opponents in the CAF Champions League, Recreativo do Libolo, were beaten by Witbank Spurs, while Luis Boa Morte scored his first goal for Bucs in a friendly.
Do Libolo got a taste of South African football yesterday against the First Division side in a friendly at the University of Pretoria sports grounds. Spurs won the match 2-0.
The Angolan side are already in the country to acclimatise themselves ahead of their meeting with Pirates in the Champions League, scheduled for Port Elizabeth on February 19.
They are currently camping in Pretoria and using the High Performance Centre training facilities.
Despite their win, Spurs manager Thabo Moroape warned Bucs not to underestimate the Angolans.
"Even though they were beaten by a First Division team, they are not a bad side," Moroape says. "They are big and like to take shots at goal.
"You know, foreign teams teams, when they play South Africans, always want to live up to expectations, and Pirates should not undermine them."
Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates played into a 1-1 draw against Inter Luanda of Angola in a friendly in Johannesburg on Saturday.
Pirates used the match to prepare themselves for the Champions League.
Former Portuguese international Luis Boa Morte scored the equalising goal for Bucs from the penalty spot.
