NFF mourns Eze, condoles Egyptian FA

The Nigeria Football Federation has sent a letter of condolence to the family of former Super Falcons' player, Felicia Eze, who died on Tuesday after a brief illness.  

The letter, sent through the management of her former club, Delta Queens Football Club, and signed by NFF General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu, mourned the untimely demise of the former national star who represented the country with patriotic zeal and sense of commitment.
 
"The death of anyone, let alone an active and lively sportswoman, who had her life ahead of her, is usually a very painful and heartbreaking experience, and the Nigeria Football Federation mourns deeply with you in your time of grief.
 
"We are only consoled by the fact that death is an inevitable end for every human, and that the departed Felicia Eze left her footprints in the sands of time as a disciplined and hard working football player for club and country."
 
The NFF is already in contact with the late Felicia Eze's family to know about the plans for the burial, as the Federation wants to be fully involved.
 
Also on Thursday, the NFF sent a letter of condolence to the Egyptian Football Association over the death of 73 persons in clashes at a football match in Port Said on Wednesday.
 
The letter, signed by NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari read, inter alia: "It is with very heavy hearts and sense of huge loss that the Members of Executive Committee and Management of Nigeria Football Federation mourn with you over the death of 73 persons in clashes after a football match in Port Said on Wednesday, 1st February, 2012. Indeed, it was a black day for African, nay world football.
 
"We understand that fans of rival clubs Al-Masry and Al Ahli flooded onto the pitch and sparked a stampede after a League match in the Mediterranean port city.
 
"The Nigeria Football Federation is saddened by this unimaginable occurrence and words are inadequate to express our sense of grief and shock.
 
"We pray that Almighty God will grant the families of the dead as well as the Egyptian football family the fortitude to bear the loss while praying that God also grants the deceased eternal rest.
 
"We equally pray for quick recovery for the hundreds of persons said to have been injured in the tragedy."

I don't know about u guys but I think this is politically motivated. The government in place clearly wants to instil more fear in the people and to make them believe that Egypt would not be the same without them. That more chaos is always around the corner
Thus they have been playing hide and seek with the election preparation and civilian hand-over.
Fans of Al Masry attack 1st when they already won the match comfortably and without any provocation whatsoever? It makes no sense.
Political thugs most likely started this. And now Al ahly would definitely want revenge.The vicious circle continues.... Who profits? AFRICA WHEN WILL WE WAKE UP?

I don't know much about deceased Felicia Eze but am sad for her passing.
How good a player was she and how many goals did she score for the Falcons?

What a shocking news, Felicia Eze, may your soul rest in peace. You did make us proud when u were in nationl women team .Please show the world her photo. The NFF should take care of her burial and not to do politics with it. Doing so will encourage other women footballers.
