Ngobeni loving life at Arrows

Golden Arrows midfielder Clifford Ngobeni says he is settling in well at his new club.

Ngobeni joined the Lamontville-based club last month after struggling for game-time at Orlando Pirates.

“I'm happy to be here; it’s a great place, lovely people and it's easy for me to fit in,” he tells KickOff.com.

Ngobeni says he is happy to reunite with coach Muhsin Ertugral, with whom he worked with during his days at Ajax Cape Town.

“I am happy to work with coach Ertugral again. When I arrived, players I worked with before like Robyn [Johannes] and Andre Petim made things comfortable for me.”

The former Orlando Pirates man says he is fitting in well during training sessions.

“I enjoy the style of football here. It's not only about winning; we need to play great football for the fans.”

Ngobeni believes he can help Arrows achieve their ambition of finishing in the top eight.

“I believe as a player alone it can’t be done. It's a team sport. We have to work hard as a team. Even the players on the bench will have a key role. If we play well together we can achieve something.”

just work hard mfana, I for one still think you are one of the best midfielders in the country, cant wait to see you again next season when you come back home

Phenya! He talks like a regular & I feel its premature to ask that question.

I'm telling you Sweyts, its not only about winning but ask ****nal,Real Madrid how it feels to play a beautiful soccer & not win anything.

Or play a nice soccer & get relegated!

Nice said than done!

I like this boy, hope he revives his career at Arrows, though the competition is still on even kubafana besthende: hope these moves, will prevent some of the hypocrite to just spit fire and understand that football is about dedication and luck (at times): there is nothing wrong with him joining Pirates and if we could stop being two-faced, wishing every player the best in the new environment won't hurt:

awu mara Donna, is this what you have reduced yourself too, playing for the top8.

ayi ntwana ngathi usaba i challenge. This shows the other side of why you struggle to make the starting 11 because u dont like challenges. I am disappointing. In life its about winning, if not then there is no point.

Admire : 2012-02-03 03:26

Tough luck ntwana its alwyz difficult 2 play 4 a big team lyk Pirates, once u dnt utilise the playing chance given 2 u, u are out. Quickly accept ur situation so tht u cn settle nicely & rejuvenate urself @ Arrows.

bheki : 2012-02-03 08:24

hayi mfana uyigwala, u should have stayed with bucs and fight for your place, anyway good luck

Andile: 2012-02-03 08:30

@King well said, if its not all about winning than whats the point.

I'm glad u not in pirates right nw coz u lack winning mentality. We dont need players with no ambition

Cliff Ngobeni dissapointed me so much. How on earth can he demote himself from being a reigning undisputed Multi-Champ and African Champions League contender to a mere top eight finisher in a lowly team..! Anyway we wish him goodluck and we will meet on the last game of the league season when we lift our trophy back-to-back. At least he will be part of that occassion though he will just be watching as he will be on the losing side that day..!!!
