Eguavoen unveiled at Enyimba

Posted: 2012-02-02 11:51

Former Nigeria coach Augustine Eguavoen has finally returned to Enyimba as their new technical adviser.

Eguavoen, who was unveiled in Aba on Wednesday before the Nigeria Premier League week six encounter against Ocean Boys, has promised to lift the standard in the team.

“I want to do my best for the team. I have been here before and I know how the club operates,” said Eguavoen, who led the Super Eagles to a bronze medal finish at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations.

“I have also watched the players in match situations and I believe we have a crop of players that can win the Premier League trophy this season. I seek the cooperation of everybody in this task of repositioning the club.”

The coach recently resigned from the Nigeria Olympic team that failed to qualify for the London 2012 games.

Enyimba finished in seventh position last season.

Good for Mr Eguaveon.

'Dem say e no good to drink panadol for another pesin headache' , but i go talk my mind sha.

It's a widely accepted theory that football and politics are like twin , it manifested yesterday in the game between Guinea and Ghana. Caf are already counting their losses at the ongoing Afcon ,from economic view point and Ghana's elimination would've compounded the woes, thus the referee was instructed to frustrate the Guineans.

Guniea out played ,outclassed and could've defeated Ghana if not for the referees decision to send a Guinean player off.

I'm sure at this point that honest Ghanaian's guess are as good as mine, lol.

This Lyrics from 'The Mafia Don and some also from Peter Tosh must have been listened to by Equavoen. Its not a bad step to re-vitalise his carreer. But i suggest that while listening he should endeavour to enrol for a real coaching course and obtain a real coaching certificate too. Enjoy the song, Mr eguavoen. Thanks for dusting urself.

Pick yourself up...
Take a deep breath...
Dust yourself off
And start all over again.

Nothing's impossible, I have found
For when my chin is on the ground.
I pick myself up,
Dust myself off
And start all over again.

Don't lose your confidence
If you slip
Be grateful for a pleasant trip
And pick yourself up,
Dust yourself off
And start all over again.

Work like a soul inspired
Until the battle of the day is won.
You may be sick and tired,
But you'll be a man, my son.

Will you remember the famous men
Who had to fall to rise again
They picked themselves up
Dust themselves off
And start'd all over again.

Work like a soul inspired
Till the battle of the day is won.
You may be sick and tired,
But you'll be a man, my son.

Will you remember the famous men
Who had to fall to rise again?
So take a deep breath...
Pick yourself up...
Dust yourself off
And start all over again.

@Game147, like you said, Good for Equavoen too. One thing is dusting yourself, another thing is where and how you do the dusting.
I hope he plays the next real trackby Peter Tosh.
enjoy, Mr Eguavoen.

PICK MYSELF UP
Sitting in the morning sun
and watching all the birds passing by
Ooh how sweat they sing
and ooh how much I wish that I could fly

and I try
I said I try
I try
I really try, try, try

But I got to pick myself up
(dust myself off) dust myself off
(start all over) start all over again (start all over)

I got to pick myself up
and (dust myself off) dust myself off
(start all over) start all over again (start all over)

Sitting in the midday sun
and wondering where my meal's coming from
After working so hard
not even piece of bread a mi yard

And I said I try
Oh lord I try
Say I try
I really try, try, try

But I got to pick myself up
and (dust myself off) dust myself off
......
(start all over) start all over again (start all over)

I got to pick myself up
and (dust myself off) dust myself off
I say
(start all over) And I start all over again (start all over)

Sitting in the evening sun
and watching the same birds passing by
Sitting and wondering
and waiting for the time for me to fly

And I try
I said I try
Good lord I try
I really try, try, try

But I got to pick myself up
and dust myself off
(start all over) and start all over again (start all over)

I got to pick myself up
over and over
(dust myself off) and dust myself off
(start all over) and start all over again (start all over)

So long and I just find
it was just a waste of time
So long and I just find
I've been wasting all my time

I got to pick myself up
and dust myself off
and (start all over) start all over again (start all over)

I got to pick myself up

@luise-hero, I am laughing at you because it seems u ar far from Ghana, Ghanaian will choose to win Nigerian than to win world cup. Ghanaian hate Nigerian to the extent that you can buy a car to them and received insult as obasanjo did to them, giving police six hundred cars and we received insult, including oil etc. Pls, if u dnt know am telling u now, no one should pretend to u that he love u from Ghana, I live with them 4 past 19yrs, dnt mind oti, he is not more than Ghana he is. it is the normal, its their cultural, jealousy, envyness, hatred, ungrateful etc, they have created all in their life and I mean Ghanaian as a whole not even 1 person love Nigerian for real. The type of hatred rolling in Nigeria by the reason of tribal issues are the same hatred Ghanaian have in anyone called Nigeria, so understand them, but one thing they forget is that, when they call theslf Ghana its just one state in Nigeria. Thank u guys. Nkata Offor 1 of Igbo land have speak. take it or

@Luis-Hero, why bother to answer a Ghanian journalist that is blinded by jealousy and suffering from short memory syndrome when Nigerian journalists gleefully show off their ignorance by ridiculing our football because we didn't qualify for AFCON 2012?

Our tendecy to use competitions to judge the quality of our football remains our undoing.

Ghanain league football is in doldrums yet they claim giant status in Africa! When last did a Ghanaian clubside make it to knock out stage of any CAF clubside competition?

With what standard do you judge a nation's football? Agreed, one way is qualifying and participating in competitions. Apart from last year, when last did Nigeria fail to qualify for AFCON? 25 years ago!

Is it right to dismiss Nigeria's status as a football great beacuse of failure to qualify for one AFCON?

Let those who count their greatness on the basis of Nigeria's failure continue in their delusion. Nigeria remains GIANT of African football. Wishful thinkers should remain deluded. Nigeria will surely take her rightful place again!

SHAME ON ALL NIGERIAN JOURNALISTS WHO TAKE PRIDE IN RIDICULLING THEIR NATION! HOMELESS AND FUGITIVES THEY ARE! SHAME ON YOU ALL! PARASITES WHO TURN AGAINST ITS HOST WHEN THERE IS NO MORE BLOOD TO SUCK!

@ game147. where are the Guineans. Everyone knows that the BS did play well against guinea but a good team is a team that get results even if it does not play well. the ref did not frustrate the Guineans , but the Guineans wanted to win at all cost to stay in the competition hence their hard play against ghana. the sent off was two yellow cards and not straight red.the game was not a rugby but football
