Schillo: Everton is close to my heart

Back in action: Fans will hope to see the best of Schillo again at Everton

Moyes, Mosimane, Steven Pienaar delighted with loan move to Everton

Schillo: Everton is close to my heart

Posted: 2012-02-02 10:13

Pitso Mosimane and David Moyes are delighted that Steven Pienaar has secured a loan move to his former club Everton – as is the man himself.

Pienaar left the Toffies last year to join Tottenham Hotspur, but was unlucky with injury and struggled to break into the first team.

The deal to send him back to Everton was concluded just before the transfer deadline, and Pienaar commented on his Facebook page: "Happy days!!! Look like we just beat the clock. Holding thumbs for next few hours …"

Mosimane says the deal is "a good and wise move for his career … the Everton coach [David Moyes] loves him and the fans in Liverpool adore him."

The Bafana Bafana coach reckons 'Schillo' played "the best soccer of his career" at Everton.

Yesterday Schillo said on Facebook: "On my way to Liverpool – feels like returning home in a way ;-)

"Thanks for all your messages and words – it really means a lot to me!

"Like I said earlier, I am very thankful that Spurs management allowed me to go on loan and I'm very happy it could be to Everton, a club close to my HEART!"

Pienaar also linked to an article on Everton's official website, in which David Moyes "hails the return of his midfield maestro".

The Everton manager told evertontv: "It was just in the last few minutes that we got Steven to come back and that will be a massive boost – certainly to the players as they really enjoyed Steven here – they thought he was a great player.

"He had such a great partnership with Leighton Baines and I think we will all be looking forward to getting him back – if he can produce anything like the form he did last time then we will all be happy.

"I think the supporters certainly in their own way will be happy to have him back as well.

"I also mentioned it to the backroom staff and they were all jumping up and down and were delighted to have him back. We will all be delighted to see him come back through the door."

Everton fans were elated with Schillo's return, with one fan commenting on his Facebook page: "I knew you'd come back, Spurs seemed a bad mistake. Always supported you when you left us, please sign on for us after loan spell! WELCOME BACK PEANUTS!!!!"

Am sure the Toffees fans are celebrating his return, but i feel differently!!!!! Pienaar dumped Everton for "greener pastures", he left despite people pleading with him to reconsider, he was always going to struggle against Bale and Modric, now, suddenly, Schillo realises that Everton is close to his heart? How convenient, well, goodluck to him!!!!!!

To be honest,I'm still looking for Steven Pienaar leadership qualities.

Personally I don't see his influence expect to the difference of playing at EPL.

Modern captain should be someone who build the repertoire & marshall his troops on & off the field.Someone who is not afraid to say his mind & stick it out.

Someone who can advice new players & doesn't take nonsense.

Someone when the ship sinks will be the last to leave.Someone who will scare his players by if they take a wrong offramp.

Steven Pienaar doesn't fit that profile for me in Bafana bafana.Aaron Mokoena used to ooze that confidence & Pitso need to look in his team & select someon like that.
