Zambia’s Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder Clifford Mulenga was sent home from the Africa Nations Cup finals for breaking a curfew.
News reaching KickOff.com is that Mulenga is said to have broken curfew after Zambia’s 1-0 win over tournament co-hosts Equatorial Guinea on January 29.
It was Chipolopolo’s final Group A match in Malabo.
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) communications officer Erick Mwanza has said that Mulenga was expelled for disciplinary reasons.
He has also commented that coach Herve Renard made it clear that it was done in the interest of teamwork and unity.
The Siwelele player did not feature in any of Zambia’s three Group A matches at the Africa Cup.
