Former Golden Arrows midfielder Njabulo Manqana explains why he could not be unveiled by Orlando Pirates – again – at today's press conference.

Manqana was notable by his absence at the press conference today, when Thandani Ntshumayelo and Sifiso Myeni were unveiled as Bucs players – although he was in the building.

Pirates unveiled the midfielder two weeks back, before he dropped a bombshell by announcing on KickOff.com that he had not actually signed for Pirates, despite the club's claims.

Manqana, together with his business manager Lindani Shezi, spent the last two weeks negotiating a contract and personal terms, before putting pen to paper on a three-year contract this morning.

"I signed a contract just before the press conference and by then it was already too late for me attend," Manqana tells KickOff.com.

"But I'm now happy with the deal and I'm looking forward to playing for my new team."

this Manqana boy is not Bucs material and I wonder why the chariman wasted time and money on someone who clearly is helbent on tarnishing our image by making baseless statements. He should have been returned to Arrows or loaned out because he is too excited and crazy if he thinks we will accept him, not after his shenanigans in the media when he knew very well that he wanted to sign for Bucs.

Manqana was bench warmer at arrows and I don't think he was signed on merit. I think they signed him to plese modlala the boss lady. Do u think jali can be dropped for ntshumaelo? Do u think manyisa can be dropped for manqana? Do u think myeni can take klate,s place? Can he take sox's place. If u can give me answers then u win. But there is still mohlongo,mayambela,mbuyane,mabalane and I think these players are going to play in nvela for fc ak next sesoan. Remember this names mothibantwa,ghumbi,mongala,kanwendo,malokase,ramodzudi,walalaza the list is end less and I see this boys names adding to this list

Dis young man situation has made me realize dat sm1 is definitely fooling some at pirates. Dis deals are worse than keeping a player on the bench. All dis players didn't have to choose arrows, and all never wanted to play for them either. But they were force to make dos moves. Dis what Guluva called street corner trading. The signing of Sfiso made put to rest the idea that Teko Modise left us, I loved that Modise boy because he played for Pirates with his heart. Miyeni is very aggressive n naturally offensive, he can play both at left wing or right. Imagine Miyeni with Sox.
